CHRISTOPHER | Epilogue
Christopher Brown
The next couple weeks went by before he knew it and he had finished the mural just in time for Amaro's move in. He watched as Amaro admired the walls of his man-cave he had created.
"This is marvelous,"
Each wall mural was painted with shades of blue with abstract shapes and gold detailing. Amaro nodded impressed before turning back to Christopher who was waiting patiently by the door.
"I knew you wouldn't disappoint. Follow me," he motioned for Chris to follow him.
Chris followed him up the stairs and around the all white mansion made of different marble and stone. The home was beautiful and he felt good knowing he contributed even if it was just the basement.
They soon entered a study where a mahogany wooden desk and brown desk chair was. Amaro walked over to the desk and opened the drawer, grabbing an envelope before closing it and turning towards Christopher.
"Here you go,"
He tried to retain his smile but failed as his dimples peaked through. He opened the envelope to confirm there was a check inside. He pulled it out further and his eyes widen as he seen it was one hundred thousand dollars instead of ten.
"You know Christopher, I know who you were the moment I saw your first canvas in Jeremy's shop. I read up on your case and found it rather interesting. Are you and the girl still together now?"
"Why does it matter?"
"Just answer,"
"Yeah,"
"Forbidden love, isn't it a beautiful, yet dangerous thing?"
Amaro stroked his chin hair as he looked at Christopher as if he was in deep thought. Christopher furrowed his eyebrows wondering why they were having this conversation.
"You know about forbidden love?" he asked.
"I do, very well. Your m- you find yourself so entangled with them, it's almost like an addiction isn't it?"
Christopher just nodded his head ready to leave. He noticed his shift from saying what he was going to say but didn't care to question him further.
"Yeah but look, I finished the job and i'm incredibly thankful for your generosity but if this is some kind of underlining deal with an alternative motive then you can just pay me what you agreed upon and take the rest back,"
