CHRISTOPHER | Mommy's Boy
Omniscient
"Do you think we should consider putting him in daycare?" Chris asked as him and Sa'hora walked in the park. Kenzo was walking in front of them chasing after the birds and whatever else came across his path. The parents didn't mind as long as he stayed in eyesight.
"I don't know, I'm still getting used to being out in the open freely again after everything went down. I still get uneasy when he is out of my sight but I know he is safe with you,"
"I feel the same way. He been acting out a lot lately though. Maybe being around other kids could help him tone down?"
"I don't know baby. Me and Millie have been getting a bit closer though. She has a daughter around the same age. Maybe we can start with playdates?"
"Millie?"
"Oh, she's my friend I made at work,"
"Oh okay cool. That's what's up baby, I'm happy you making friends,"
He caressed her hand with his thumb as they continued to walk behind Kenzo. They received a few glances, even caught someone taking a photo of them but neither cared at this point. Everyone could think what they wanted.
"Yeah she's nice. Kas called me the other day when I was leaving but I declined it. I don't think we'll ever be friends like we were. I no longer trust her,"
He nodded his head understanding and leaned down to give her a kiss on the cheek.
"How is your mural coming for that guy?"
"It's been good. I know I will be done by the deadline. One day you can come with me and see,"
She smiled and he kissed her forehead as they approached the playground in the park.
"Ken, want to go play?" Sa'hora asked.
He stopped walking and glanced back at his mother shaking his head no. Sa'hora was about to gave in and let him stay with them but Chris stopped her and shook his head.
"He needs to interact with more people than just us. Kenzo come here,"
Kenzo side eyed his father and stood in place contemplating wether he should run or not. But the look his father shot him let him know he better not dare. He slowly walked in front of his daddy and looked at him as he kneeled down to his level.
"Come on,"
He picked Kenzo up and put him on his shoulders walking over to the toddlers play area. Sa'hora followed, her heart fluttering at the sight. It was early Friday morning and the park was not too occupied. There were three other toddlers with their parents already in the play area.
One parent, an older white woman, eyed him as he entered the area with his son and Sa'hora following.
"Cassie it's time to go," the lady called out, her eyes never leaving Christopher.
He smirked as he looked straight at her making her nervous.
"My son don't want to play with your bitch ass daughter anyways," he said making her gasp.
