Once Naomi and Finnick had caught some food for them to eat they sat down on the beach, digging in.
Peeta cracked open an oyster shell, picking the pearl out of it that lay on top and holding it between his fingers. He smiled, "Look," he said turning to Naomi, "For you,"
She looked confused at him before smiling and holding out her hand, he placed it on her palm. A shiny grey pearl, she looked back up at him again.
"Thank you..,"
Peeta's smile grew wider before he carried on eating. Finnick looked between the both of them before making eye contact with Naomi, he raised an eyebrow at her. She shrugged her shoulders, pretending she didn't really care but in reality she thought this was sweet of Peeta. Maybe it was a kind gesture to show he appreciated her saving him.
They all heard screams coming from afar, lifting their heads and looking around. "That's new," Peeta said before they all stood up again, getting their weapons at the ready.
They watched as the trees shook around, rumbling. Water came crashing down before the cannon fired again. It was coming their way until it stopped in the middle of the arena and crashed against the force field before settling into the water in the middle again. The water rushed to their feet before it calmed down again.
The hovercraft swooped in and gathered up the body before rushing off again.
Katniss looked away over to the other side of the beach, "Someone's here," she said before getting an arrow ready. Finnick took a look, "Johanna?" He said before rushing off, "Johanna!" He shouted as Naomi went off behind him, going to greet their friend.
"Finnick!" She shouted back as she turned to see the both of them running towards her, she walked up to them and gave them both a hug, she was covered in red from head to toe, blood. "Well... I got 'em out. We were all the way deep into the jungle where I thought it was gonna be safe," she explained as Katniss and Peeta ran over to join them.
"That's when the rain started. I thought it was water. It turned out to be blood," she told Finnick and Naomi, "Tick tock," Wiress mumbled behind her, "Hot, thick blood. It was coming down," she said shoving Wiress aside, "Tick tock," "It was choking us," Johanna said before scoffing, "We were stumbling around, gagging on it, blind. That's when Blight hit the force field," she sighed before leaning her head backwards, Wiress still mumbling on in the background.
"He wasn't much, but he was from home," she said nodding, "Tick tock. Tick tock," Wiress kept saying as she touched Johanna's arm, "What's wrong with her?" Katniss asked them, "She's in shock," Beetee responded, "Dehydration isn't helping. Do you have fresh water?" He questioned them, "We can get some,"
Wiress wouldn't leave Johanna alone, she kept grabbing onto her. "Tick tock. Tick tock. Tick tock," "Listen. Stop it!" she said trying to shove her off, "Hey! Lay off her!" Katniss screamed, "Just sit down!" Johanna shoved her onto the ground.
Katniss grabbed a hold of Johanna, "Hey! What are you doing? Hey, hey, hey!" She yelled back at her as Finnick grabbed Johanna and made sure she didn't try to attack Katniss next.
"I got them out for you!" She yelled at her, "It's okay. It's okay," Finnick told her, "Let me go, Finnick! Let me go. I'm fine,"
"For me? What does that mean?" Katniss asked Naomi and Peeta, "You did want them as allies," Peeta responded.
Katniss threw her bow to the side before moving towards Wiress, "Come on, let's go get you cleaned up," she said as she walked into the water with her.

"This entire arena seems to be laid out like a clock with a new threat every hour, but they stay only within their wedge. It all starts with the lightening. Then the blood rain, fog, monkeys. That's the first four hours. At ten that big wave hits from over there," Katniss explains after she figured out why Wiress was saying tick tock, she was referencing to a clock. The arena was a clock.
"Wiress, you're a genius," Finnick told her as Naomi and him passed by, "Look, the tail points to twelve," Peeta said. "That's where the lightening strikes at noon and midnight," Katniss explained to the ones who had just joined them, "Strikes where?" Beetee looked around, Katniss pointed, "That big tree,"
"Good," he responded once he had seen it.
Naomi walked over to Peeta who drew a circle in the sand with his machete, "So twelve to one, lightening. Then one to two is blood. Then fog, and then monkeys," he rambled on as they all gathered around him, "And then ten to eleven, the wave. What about everything else? Did you guys see anything?" Katniss asked Beetee and Johanna.
"Nothing but blood,"
"It doesn't matter. As long as we steer clear of whichever sector is active, we'll be safe," Peeta told them all, "Yeah. Relatively speaking,"
Wiress gasped, turning everyone's attention to her only to see Gloss stabbing her and the cannon firing, Katniss shot her arrow into his chest, making him fall backwards into the water. Cannon fired again.
Cashmere ran at them next, Johanna shoved Katniss aside before swinging her axe at her and killing her, the cannon fired again.
Brutus started attacking Finnick and Peeta, Katniss went to shoot at him but Enobaria threw something at Finnick to distract them all, Finnick stopped Peeta from going after them.
The middle of the arena started to spin around, they all fell to the ground, gripping on for dear life. "Finnick!" Naomi yelled to him, beginning to lose her grip as it began to spin faster and faster, he was too far away from her, "Hold on, Naomi. Just hold on!" He shouted back, Beetee then began to slip downwards as well, Finnick grabbed onto him.
Naomi's grip slipped, just as she was about to slip off the rock a hand grabbed hers, pulling her back up again. "I've got you!" Peeta yelled to her, dragging her up beside him, the both of them clinging to each other for dear life, his arm hooked around her waist to stop her from going anywhere. The rock slowly stopped spinning again.
Finnick rushed over to her as Peeta was helping her up, "Are you okay?" Her brother asked her, she nodded looking at Peeta and wrapping her arms tightly around him, he looked at her worried before gently rubbing her back, he had saved her, "You're okay..," he whispered as she breathed heavily in his arms, she hated this all. She just wanted to go home.
"Thank you..," she whispered to him before breaking away from the hug, planting a kiss on his cheek. He blushed slightly and nodding as if it wasn't a big deal. Finnick patted his shoulder to show he was grateful before taking Naomi under his arm and walking to find the others while Peeta stood dazed for a moment.
They found Katniss and Johanna beside each other, Katniss had fallen into the water and was now drenched, choking up water that had filled her lungs. "You okay?!" Naomi yelled to her as she rushed over, she stuck her thumb up at her.
"Let's just get what we need and get off the bloody island," Johanna said as Naomi helped Katniss up and brought her back over to everyone else.
