Katniss watched out the window as the hovercrafts flew off, going to create the avalanche by bombing the fortress.

"What's the difference, Katniss?" Gale asked her as he continued to look out the window, "Crushing the enemy in a mine or blowin' them outta the sky with one of Beetee's arrows. It's the same thing," he told her referencing back to when they were in District Eight and she shot down two of the hovercrafts bombing them.

"We were under attack in District Eight. And that hovercraft wasn't filled with civilians," she argued, thinking it was stupid he even tried to compare the situation.

"Doesn't matter. Even if those civilians are just moppin' floors, they're helping the enemy. And if they have to die, I can live with that. No one who supports The Capitol is innocent," he went on, "With that kinda thinking, you can kill whoever you want," Naomi joined the conversation as she overheard him, walking to stand beside Katniss, "You can send kids off to The Hunger Games to keep the districts in line," Katniss added on to Naomi's point, they could hear the bombs in the distance. Katniss squeezed her eyes shut.

"It's war, guys. Sometimes killing isn't personal. Figured if anyone knew that, it was you, Katniss," "I, of all people, know that it's always personal,"

The troops cheered as they heard the bombs dropping and watched the mountains begin to collapse, making the three look over to them before looking themselves. They chanted as they continued to watch.

Katniss couldn't believe what everything had come to at that point.

They headed for the train tunnel, Cressida and the rest following in behind them. Gale and Naomi stood behind Katniss, Haymitch and Boggs as they walked through.

"Don't worry, Katniss, there'll be survivors," Boggs told her to make her feel more at ease. "Let's focus on what it is you gotta say," Haymitch said as he dug into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper, "Now, Plutarch wrote a speech for you...," "I'm not saying that," she responded to him as he went to hand it to her, "Okay. Didn't think so," he said as he threw it behind him, "Let's, uh... But just remember, you're talking to everybody. Not just the rebels, but The Capitol, The survivors in Two. We want them to lay down their arms. So you might wanna experiment with a little sensitivity, warmth," he told her before giving her arm a small whack, she turned to walk off, "Make it quick, you're exposed," Boggs told her before him and Haymitch went to join the others beside Cressida and the camera men.

Katniss turned around to face them, Cressida counted down with her fingers to show they were rolling. Katniss took a deep breath before speaking, "This is Katniss Everdeen, speaking to all of the loyalists from the heart of District Two,"

"Survivors! Inbound!" Someone shouted as the train started to get close. "Ready! Ready! Guns up!" "On the ready. Guns up!"

Boggs ran over to Katniss, grabbing her to get her away.

"Here they come!" "Weapons tight! Weapons tight! Everybody, stand by!" Others shouted as the train came to a stop, everyone held their weapons firmly, having them at the ready just in case.

"On the ground!" "Put your weapons down. Get on the ground! Put your weapons down now! Weapons down!"

The survivors scrambled to get off the train, getting pushed and shoved around to get down to the ground.

"You! Put it down! Put it... Put your weapons down!"

Boggs got his gun at the ready, pointing it at someone, "Drop it! Drop your weapon! You! Drop it," he said shouting and pointing at the guy, "Drop the gun! Drop it!"

There was gunfire, making people crouch down to cover themselves. "Hold your fire!" Katniss went to get among them, Boggs tried his best to keep a hold of her but she shoved him off, "Stop! Stop!" She yelled as she ran to someone who was injured.

"Hold your fire!" Boggs said swinging his gun around. "Stop!" "Hold your fire!" "He needs help!" Katniss shouted as she got down beside him to check on him, only for her to get a gun shoved up against her throat as the guy gripped tightly onto her. Naomi looked to Gale and Boggs, having no idea what to do in this situation.

"Drop it!" Boggs told him as he aimed his gun at him.

"Give me one reason I shouldn't shoot you," the survivor demanded of Katniss, digging the gun into her neck. "Drop the gun!"

She didn't say anything, she just stared at him.

"I can't. I guess that's the problem, isn't it?" She spoke eventually, the guy looked stunned, clearly not expecting that kind of response, probably thinking she would've begged for her life, but instead she didn't seem to care if she lived or died.

"We blew up your mine. You burned my district to the ground. We each have every reason to want to kill each other. So if you wanna kill me, do it. Make Snow happy. I'm tired of killing his slaves for him," she told him with anger in her voice, sounding fed up of it all.

"I'm not his slave," the guy told her.

"I am. That's why I killed Cato. And he killed Thresh. And Thresh killed Clove. It just goes around and around. And who wins? Always Snow. I am done being a piece in his game. District Twelve, District Two. We have no fight. Except the one The Capitol gave us. Why are you fighting the rebels? Your neighbours. Your family," she questioned him, the guy lowered the gun, dropping it on the floor and finally letting go of Katniss. She looked around at the people surrounding her before she pulled herself up off the ground. Gale, Naomi and Boggs kept their guns pointed towards the guy, making sure he didn't move.

"These people are not your enemy," she yelled to them all, "We all have one enemy. And that's Snow. He corrupts everyone and everything. He turns the best of us against each other. Stop killing for him. Tonight, turn your weapons to The Capitol. Turn your weapons to Snow," Katniss said to them just as one of the survivors stood and shot her twice, she fell backwards and collapsed to the ground.

"Shit," Naomi watched in horror as the rebels shot at him, Boggs and Gale quickly got Katniss and the rest out of there, getting them to safety before they got hurt as well.
