They all wandered through the jungle again, Finnick was in front leading them all as Beetee carried the wire right behind him, the six of them stopped as the Panem anthem started playing, they looked up to the sky, watching as the different tributes face's who had passed appeared in the sky. Once it stopped they continued on walking.

Finally they reached the tree, they all looked up at it. "Minimal charring. It's an impressive conductor. Let's get started," Beetee said to them all as they approached it, "Typically, a lightening strike contains five billion joules of energy. We don't want to be anywhere in the vicinity when this hits," He told them as he wrapped the wire around the tree.

"You three girls, go together now. Take this. Unspool it carefully. Make sure this entire coil is in the water, you understand? Then head to the tree at the two o'clock sector. We'll meet you there," Beetee explained, "I'm gonna go with them as a guard," Peeta told him, "No, no, no. You're staying here to protect me, and the tree," Beetee responded firmly, it was non negotiable.

"No, I need to go with them,"

"There are two Careers out there. I need two guards," Beetee made clear, "Finnick can protect you just fine on his own," "Yeah. Why can't Finnick and Johanna stay with you, and Peeta, Naomi and I will take the coil?" Katniss questioned, Johanna looked at Finnick and Naomi.

"You all agreed to keep me alive till midnight, correct?" Beetee asked Katniss, "It's his plan. We all agreed to it," Johanna said. "Naomi can protect you better than he ever could, so is there a problem here?" Finnick asked Katniss, "Excellent question,"

"No. There's no problem,"

Naomi gave Finnick a brief hug before pecking Peeta on the cheek, "We'll see you at midnight," "All right, let's go!" Johanna said to her and Katniss, the three of them left the boys, Naomi looked back at them to see Peeta watching them walk off, he wanted to protect her, to keep her safe, but Finnick knew Naomi had her own back, she always was on the look out.

Katniss walked with the coil behind them, slowly making their way through the jungle.

"Come on. I want to put as much distance between me and this beach as possible," Johanna told Katniss trying to rush her, "Frying is not how I want to go,"

Katniss stopped, turning around as the wire got stuck. "There's something...," she said as she tugged at it, it snapped. Brutus and Enobaria appeared out of nowhere and suddenly the next thing Naomi knew is Johanna was knocking Katniss over the head with the coil. She cut Katniss' arm open, taking the tracker from her arm and rubbed her blood over her neck, forcing her to stay down on the ground.

"Shh, stay down,"

Naomi and Johanna split up, leaving Katniss there.
Johanna lead Brutus and Enobaria away from Katniss. "Naomi, where are you?!" Finnick yelled, he was close. "Finnick?!" she shouted, eventually finding him and grabbing his arm, "Finnick, where is everyone?!" "I can't find Johanna, where did she go?" He asked his sister, "Me and her went seperate ways, Brutus and Enobaria went after her,"

The cannon fired.

"Follow me," he told her as the two of them began to run back to the tree, they could hear Katniss yelling Peeta's name in the distance, "Katniss, where are you?!" Finnick yelled once they reached the tree, he looked around frantically. Their plan had taken a turn.
