I've always been one that gets extremely immersed in the world of New Year's resolutions. The concept of a fresh start in a new year has been something I've always loved, the thought of new beginnings and being able to turn a new leaf in life.

In previous years I've wished for good health for my children, for them to be safe and happy but before I had them in my life I was wishing for some peace within my mind and finding a balance with my relationship with Lucas or even finding a way to leave yet I never did. My true resolution every year has been to reconcile my relationship with Harry, I kept it at the front of my mind but like most other people the resolution was an unattainable craze for a month or so before the motivation to pursue began to dwindle.

Now I have Harry back, our relationship is even more than simply rekindled. Our pure love for one another is finally out in the air, something I'd dreamed of in the past. I always hoped our close budding relationship would blossom beautifully into something bigger, something I could treasure and hold even closer to my heart.

Two children and one on the way later we're sitting in the garden of our beautiful home we own together with the entirety of our family including Niall and Amelia who have Romeo between them to dote over, a sleeping puppy, whose name has been decided upon courtesy of our Romy, Murphy, resting in my lap with his face squished against my small bump.

A fire blazes fiercely between all of us spread out on comfortable garden furniture that thankfully arrived in time for this evening. The warmth from the flames heats the space, protecting us from the chilly but gentle wind that had previously taken over the day. It feels incredibly cosy out here, the space warm and safe.

Across from Harry and me, as we remain snuggled up on a smaller chair, are my parents and Gemma, all of them obsessing over Mabel's smile while Anne and Nolan occupy the fourth seating space as they chatter about something I can't hear over the crackling of the fire but I can see their lips moving.

Going into the new year with all the people I love so deeply; the people I hold so closely to my heart means a lot to me. As soon as the clock strikes midnight and there's a reset in the world I'll start it surrounded by nothing by unconditional love and adoration. Before I could even think about doing something special to have the presence of Eloise in the garden with us other than her smiles from the moon, Romeo beat me to it.

He disappeared undetected from the garden back into the house shortly after Nolan, who'd been the last to get here, arrived. Upon his arrival he walked cautiously as he looked at me, Harry nudged me to make sure I was solely focused on our little boy as he ventured down with the small photo frame of Eloise and me that he keeps on his bedside table. He gave her a seat beside Nolan, whispering in request he look after her before he tackled Niall with big hugs and sweet cheek kisses.

After that we relaxed, we've got a few hours to go and I'm doubtful either of the kids will reach anywhere near the midnight mark to watch the beautiful fireworks light up the dark sky. I plan to make sure they're tucked up in their beds as well as Murphy because I don't want him to be scared of the inevitable loud bangs. I know dogs can be utterly petrified and I want to do anything to make him comfortable and happy.
