"Little blueberries there please Daddy." Romeo points to where his pancake sits on a white ceramic plate, his eyes still swollen from sleep while his small pyjamas hang over his tiny feet due to them being too long for his short legs.

With one hand holding Mabel to my bare chest, my other digs into the punnet of freshly washed blueberries resting on the kitchen side to gather a few between my fingers and place exactly where my little boy requests. He watches through his glossy eyes while directing where each small berry should be placed, forming a smiley blueberry face atop his fluffy pancake which causes sweet giggles to tumble from his lips.

"Smiley berries!" He cheers happily, "maybe now whipped cream?!"

"Whipped cream?" I double-check, watching his little head nod with messy curls flopping around. "Okay, don't wiggle. I don't want you to fall."

"I won't, Daddy." He promises with the cutest grin that brings me to step away from where he's sitting on the countertop, holding Mabel tighter in my arms as I walk across the room to the fridge. Pulling it open with one hand I search the shelves to find the new can of whipped cream we picked up on our last shopping trip.

With the cold metal can in my possession, I give it a shake and shut the heavy door with my hip before spinning around listening to the loud babbles of my little girl resting on my hip. She's been so chatty this morning since she woke me up at six. "I know Tiny Girl! But you're not big enough to try whipped cream yet!" Replying to her, my eyes are on her tiny ones that look identical to her beautiful Mumma's.

Talking of my pretty fiance, she woke me up at three this morning to say she was going to Nolan's place. It's only been about three hours since because our babies woke me up early this morning ready for breakfast which I don't mind but this is the first time it's just me and the kids without Winnie.

I'm immersed deeply into Daddy mode right now.

I want to be perfect for our babies, to prove to WInnie that I can do it even if she strongly believes in me.

Reaching the counter where my little boy sits he's watching with curious eyes as I shake the can of whipped cream to make sure it's all mixed before popping the cap off one-handed. "Where would you like the whipped cream, Rome?"

He hums in thought, tapping his little chin before solidifying his decision by pointing down to the edge of the pancake. "Make crazy hair!" Giggles are again leaving his lips at the idea he's created in his imaginative mind and I can't help but smile as I follow through with his request and create small dollops of whipped cream all along the top edge to simulate hair. "Thank you, Daddy."

With him content, I kiss his little cheek while lifting him down from his seat on the countertop, he rushes over to the little breakfast nook on the other side of the room where Ellie the Elephant sits on one of the chairs ready for her breakfast too. I follow behind with the plate as well as the punnet of spare blueberries for me to munch on, I don't think I could stomach pancakes this early in the morning.
