If possible, the rave is even more ear deafening than the dream.
As they stand on the edge of the crowd, Spike turns to them.
"Alright, listen up. Me and Pauline are gonna go off together over there." Spike points. "And you two go off somewhere else. Cover more ground."
Then he leaves with Pauline, before anyone can protest.
"So it's just you and me then." Luigi raises his voice to be heard over the loud music.
"Yep." Mario agrees. "Partners?"
"Something." Luigi corrects. "I'll just tell you when I think I see Pixie."
"Sounds good."
The two go off in opposite directions, but with the noise hurting his ears, Luigi can barely tell the difference between one face and another.
So it's a small miracle when Mario finds him again, at the very least pretending to dance in front of him.
"You come here often?" Mario jokes.
"Not at all." Luigi yells over the music. "But it still feels familiar."
Elsewhere, Spike and Pauline are dancing it up, getting close and even doing a few moves together.
"Damn, you're flexible!" Spike is impressed, but it appears Pauline can't hear him as she asks, "What?"
Spike comes closer to say in her ear, "I said you're flexible!"
"Dance class!" Pauline replies, but this time it's Spike asking, "What?", so Pauline says louder, "Dance class!", then asks, "What are we doing here anyhow?"
"No idea!" Spike says, waving his arms around.
"Weeg, you look like a narc." Mario says, as Luigi hasn't made one move to dance.
"Huh?" Luigi asks.
"Try to act like you belong here." Mario advises, but when Luigi doesn't move, Mario says, "Show me some moves!"
Luigi's more interested in Mario's moves, which, if Luigi's being honest, are surprisingly impressive.
"I said raves don't like me." Mario reminds him. "Not that I didn't like them!", then grabs Luigi's hands.
"Stop, what are you doing?" Luigi demands, trying to pull away.
"Helping you out, bro! What else?" Mario doesn't let go, moving Luigi's arms around for him.
Luigi turns to look around at the other ravers, watching how they move, from their arms, torsos, and even their legs and hips.
In seconds, he gets into the swing, pulling his arms back to do his own moves.
"There we go!" Mario praises.
They even dance side by side for a moment or two, with Mario noting, "That was quick!"
"Thanks!" Luigi replies, but the moment is short lived when he spots someone in the crowd, and he comes back to a standstill.
"Jake's here." Luigi says, nodding towards a young man all decked out the same as everyone else, so the two make their way over to him.
"Are you Jake?" Luigi calls as they approach.
"Who wants to know?" Jake asks.
"Alexis Maven's friends." Luigi replies.
"Impossible. I saw her when she was petrified." Jake challenges.
"So did I." Luigi says, hoping he'll buy it. "Where's that no-good Boo Pixie?"
