Warning⚠️
- talk of eating disorders

Y/N POV
We were 2-0 up in our game against the USA, and were still 15 mins away from half time. The game was going great, but I was starting to feel a bit off. I had no energy left in me, and I just knew something bad was going to happen.

I didn't eat anything before the game, I had been struggling with my eating for a while, but always kept it a secret from everyone else, as I didn't want anyone to worry and I was so scared of being judged. So for that reason, I was playing a game of football on a completely empty stomach.

The feeling wouldn't go away. It was getting worse, which made me panic even more. I was trying to continue the best I could, but eventually my body just stopped working properly. I felt sick, I was sweating and I was so dizzy, I felt like I was seeing stars until all of a sudden everything went black.

Leah's POV
England were winning 2-0 thanks to Alex and Chloe scoring some amazing goals. Obviously we were still playing as best as we could, as anything could've happened in that time. The USA are an amazing team, so it was really daunting playing against them. Some of the girls were feeling overly nervous because of it, but we were smashing it, and as captain I felt so proud of the girls.

Everything was going really well, until out the corner of my eye I saw Y/N stumbling across the pitch rather than running. She was pacing in a way but it didn't look good.

"Y/N!" I shouted, hoping she'd turn around and come to me, but instead she tried to turn and collapsed to the floor. I ran over as quickly as I could, her lifeless body lying still on the ground. Big sister mode kicked in instantly, and the panic rushed through my body so fast.

"Get up, get up, please get up." I said, trying to shake her to wake her up. She doesn't get up. My voice began to break as I tried to help Y/N gain consciousness again. The medics rushed over to us to assess the situation, whilst our whole team came to see what was going on. I couldn't move. I was sat on the ground stroking Y/N's head, but nothing was changing. She'd collapsed and was completely out of it. My brain instantly went into panic mode, thinking of the worst possible scenarios for what was happening. I'd zoned out of everything, so when Millie tried to comfort me, I didn't hear her until she tapped me on the shoulder.

"Leah, talk to me. Are you okay?"

I looked up briefly to see all the girls stood around us on the floor. My vision was blurred but I looked at Millie who could see how scared I was. She bent down and kissed my head to ground me a bit.

The whole crowd was concerned, even the opposing fans. We'd wasted a good 10 minutes of time so we'd have to play that before the break, but I didn't feel like I could do it. My brain was all over the place, and I felt as if I was going to break down at any moment. The medics, finally after what seemed like forever, managed to get Y/N conscious again, so they popped her on a stretcher to take her off and to the hospital. I was holding her hand when she came round, but she didn't open her eyes.

"She'll be okay. Go back out and play, you can do it," one of the medics said to me. I looked at Y/N, who was still so frail, and stroked her forehead as a tear fell from my cheek onto hers. I watched as she was taken off, hearing the whole crowd clapping for her as it happened. I turned around back towards the girls, to which I saw Alessia right behind me, the pain and worry in her eyes was heartbreaking to see. I gave her a hug before we had to continue the game, something none of us felt up to doing.

Sarina's POV
As soon as the whistle blew for half time, I rallied the girls together as quickly as possible to head to the dressing room. The first half was great, still winning 2-0 at half time, however none of the girls were even bothered, as they were all solely focused on Y/N. She'd collapsed during the first half and had to be stretchered off the pitch to the hospital. It was really worrying.
