Y/N's POV

Things had improved massively since last camp. Leah's mental state was improving, she seemed a lot happier now that she had spoken out about what happened to her, and she had all of us on her side which helped massively. Luckily, she hadn't been left with many visible scars, despite mentally having a lot, so she was still able to play without showing anything she was too nervous to show.

It was our day off, and Leah and I had taken the day to go to the beach and relax. It was sunny and the wind was at a minimum so we felt today was the best day to go out and enjoy ourselves.

"Have you got everything you need?" Leah asked me, grabbing my hands and pulling me in for a hug. I nodded.

"What's with the hug?" I asked.

"Just felt like it. I'm in a hug mood today." Leah replied.

"When are you ever not in that mood." I giggled, hugging her back. Leah always loved a good cuddle with those she loved, the way she showed people around her how much they meant to her was the sweetest thing, it often made me emotional thinking about it, because as time's gone on, especially since Leah's breakup, she showed her love for me a lot more, which made us closer than ever. She truly means everything to me.

I locked the front door and got in the car, of course Leah decided she didn't want to drive the hour long journey to the beach, so I had to do it. To be fair I didn't really mind as I enjoyed driving, but giving Leah that opportunity to sit and scroll through social media for the hour when I couldn't stop her from looking at stuff that was bad, scared the shit out of me. I knew deep down she still wasn't over what had happened with Jordan, but I never brought it up unless she did, because I hated the thought of upsetting her any more than she already was.

"Don't go scrolling for too long," I said. "I can't let you do that to yourself."

"I'm fine Y/N/N trust me, I'm over it now." Leah replied. I knew she was lying, but I did not want to argue, so I continued to drive in silence until we arrived at the beach.

*Home from the beach*

I forced Leah to drive home as it was only fair we both drove at some point. When we got home she was messing around with the ducks she'd won in the amusements at the beach, trying to figure out where was best to put them. Somehow she had won loads of them, so it turned into a line of ducks on the mantle piece.

"How does that look?" Leah asked me.

"It looks great, although very childish." I laughed.

"Hey! It's cute!" Leah protested.

"I never said it wasn't cute!" I giggled, taking a picture of her little creation.

We sat for a short while just chatting before I got up to go in the shower. I hated the way I would feel after being around sand, it was as if it was everywhere and I needed to get it off me. I didn't even ask Leah if I could use her shower, but I knew she'd let me anyway because she was my best friend.

Leah's POV

Me and Y/N had spent the day at the beach, it was so fun and I'd won a whole bunch of little toy ducks, which I had placed on my mantle piece in a line, as if they were all following each other. Y/N said it looked childish, but it was cute and it made me smile which is all both of us cared about.
