Y/N's POV
Today was the start of our long weekend, a four day weekend and some time to relax. All I wanted to do was sit in front of the TV and binge watch a ton of movies and shows, to forget about football for just a few days and get rid of all the stresses.
I woke up at around 9am, so much later than normal, and got dressed into some comfy clothes. I went downstairs to make some breakfast, and put some upbeat music on to keep me going. I loved days where I could be on my own and away from football for a bit. As much as I loved it and I loved having it as my job, it was exhausting at times both physically and mentally, so a few days off was extremely needed.
After settling down with my breakfast and a hot chocolate, I turned on the TV and put on the very first episode of Dance Moms, something I'd watched so many times before, but it made me laugh so it was perfect. I put my phone at the other side of the room to prevent any distractions, and got stuck in very quickly.
About two hours and a couple of episodes into the binge watching, I got up to put my dishes in the kitchen, grabbing myself some snacks for later and a can of pepsi max, before heading back to the sofa. At that moment, the doorbell rang. I was confused, as I was not expecting any deliveries and all the girls were spending time on their own, like me. I put my food and drink down and headed over to the door, opening it to find a few young girls, probably about 13/14 years old, wearing football shirts and carrying programmes from our most recent game. My stomach dropped. Fans.
"Oh my god!! The rumours were true!!" one of the girls squealed.
"Y/N!! I love you so much! Can we get a photo please?" the other continued.
I could feel my heart racing, pounding out of my chest.
"Erm, hi girls." I said, not knowing what to do or how to deal with the fact my address had been leaked online. "Where did you find my address?"
"It's on Twitter, it was getting passed around at the game on Sunday but we didn't believe it, so we thought we had to come and see for ourselves!" the girls replied. I swallowed hard, choking back tears as I pretended to be happy about this, but knowing for sure this wouldn't be the end of it.
"Can we go to the end of the street for it? I just don't want my house being in the photo if that's okay?" I asked the girls, to which they agreed. I put my boots on and grabbed my phone and keys, before locking the door and walking the girls to the end of my street, where cars were driving past on the main road. I hoped to god that people would look at the photos and think the girls had stopped me on the street.
I got some photos with them and signed their programmes. I was always happy to meet fans after football matches, as I loved interacting with them and hearing their stories, but finding out that my address was getting passed around social media was not right. Panic rushed through me as I smiled at the girls, who were fangirling and extremely excited.
"Thank you for your support girls," I said. "But can I ask you both one favour?"
Both the girls nodded, their eyes widening at the question.
"My address being leaked is a breach of my privacy, this is where I live and should be able to live safely. Can you try and stop people from coming here please? I know there's a lot of people who probably have it, but just because it's my home. I love meeting you guys at games, but it's just different when it's here, you get me?" I choked up again, but tried to keep myself calm.
The girls nodded again. "Of course, we didn't realise it was a problem."
"Don't worry, it was nice to meet you both." I replied with a small smile, before heading back to my house and sending the girls in another direction. I unlocked my door with shaky hands, and stepped back into the house in a panic. I locked the door again once I got inside, breathing heavily as I did it. I desperately tried to forget about what had just happened by kicking my boots off and sitting back on the sofa, resuming my episode, but it was too much. I switched the TV off and went onto Twitter, trying to find my address as quick as possible. It took me a minute or two but when I found it, there was 300 people who'd bookmarked the tweet, along with hundreds of reposts, likes and comments. I reported the tweet numerous times. Every time I refreshed the page, more retweets and more likes were popping up. I knew this was about to get worse, and lo and behold, it did. I heard talking outside, so I ran upstairs and peeked out my bedroom window to see more groups of people coming into my street. Shit.
