Warning⚠️: descriptions of self harm.
Lucy's POV
As the day went on, everyone was silent. None of us could stop thinking about what had happened, but also about her father, the pathetic excuse of a man that he was, being released from prison and being able to hurt others the way he hurt Y/N. It didn't sit right at all, but we knew there was nothing we could do about that. We just wanted to keep our friend safe.
We had continued training after the break, Sarina being completely unaware of the situation, but as expected, it wasn't easy. I knew I needed to speak to Sarina about what really happened and why Y/N was really missing from training. She was just told that
Y/N was feeling poorly and had to head back to camp. As we were teamed up for a mini game, I looked over to the girls collecting bibs, coincidentally all the girls who had seen Y/N in the state she was were in the same team, meaning I had to try and go as easy on them as possible. Chloe looked pale from the shock of it, while Alessia was completely zoned out, walking around by Chloe's side like some sort of zombie. Leah was over there too, refusing to talk to anyone. Her mind was clearly elsewhere, and she looked like she would burst into tears the second something else went the slightest bit wrong. I turned to my team, consisting of Alex, Jess, Keira, Niamh, LJ and Beth, with Ellie as our goalie, and made sure they took things slow, to try and keep things running as smoothly as possible."Bless them, they all look exhausted." Jess sighed.
"It was such a horrible thing to see." I replied. "I just hope Y/N is doing okay at the hospital and they sort her out asap. I gave them my phone number so they could call when she was allowed visitors.
"I'll go and see her." Beth spoke up. "I can take a couple of the others in my car, plenty of space in there when we need to bring her home as well."
"Good plan." I said. "I need to speak to Sarina desperately, I just don't know what to say."
"We'll think of something after this game." Alex said.
We headed over to get set up for our mini game. The other team were sitting on the grass, seeming to be having a deep conversation. I looked over at them, seeing Alessia rubbing Leah's back. I knew this wouldn't be good.
"Oh Leah's crying." Keira pointed out.
"I'm not surprised," Beth said. "Bless her she must've got such a shock."
"We're just going to have to try our best to make things easy, the second something else goes wrong she'll break." I sighed, and with that we got ourselves ready.
Leah's POV
I couldn't concentrate, my heart was pounding and images of Y/N lying on the bathroom floor kept rushing through my brain. I didn't feel up to playing at all, but as captain I knew I had to pull myself together and get on with it.
Me and the girls sat down on the ground to discuss our tactics for the game. I tried to string a few sentences together, but I couldn't focus on what was going on in front of me.
"Sorry guys, I can't think straight." I sighed, looking at the ground and trying my best not to cry again. Alessia placed a gentle hand on my back, rubbing it as I sniffled.
"It's okay, we get it. Take all the time you need." I heard Mary say.
"God this is so painful." Chloe said sadly.
"We have to do something to stop that man from ever coming near us. Our main priority is to keep Y/N safe." Georgia continued the conversation.
"Do you think the police would supply us with a photo of him so that security knows who to look out for?" Ella asked.
