What? Did the Queen just say that Maria is her great-granddaughter?

How can this be? She is human, well sorta. Her mother and father are human. I checked and her grandparents are human. No wolves, no royal family...how?

Dad, I mind link to my dad. Did you know that Maria is the great-granddaughter the High Alpha Queen?

Son I found out just before you arrived at the pack house. What is going on now? My father asked.

I'm not sure. I was called before the Royal Court but something happened and we are now about to go to the family room with no guards. Dad I'm a little nervous. I tell link my father.

Son let me know what you can as soon as you can and I will help you, I am sure there is a reason we did not know about Maria. Most likely it had something to do with her protection among other things. Son I don't know if you realize this yet but if she is who I think she is you are no longer a sub-royal but part of the ruling family and therefore royal unless she rejects you and then you both die. The royal wolf who does the rejecting dies instantly and the mate will soon follow because of the pain of loosing her mate. Your mother and I love you, Son. I could tell dad wants to talk and know what is really going on but in truth I have no idea what I will be able to share with my parents.

Son I've been looking into the history and prophecy since you left with the High Alpha King. My mother linked to me. Being the granddaughter of the last Royal Historian gives me some advantages. Anyway, it looks like there are some very important old prophecies that the two you have already met and if that is so then you need to spend time with Von because there are a lot of other prophecies that point to you.

I understand mother. You were always partial to Von.

Well you have to understand son he was more like an older brother than cousin. The hours I would spent at pawpaw's feet Von was always there. Until I met your dad I would say I spent more time with Von than any other male and your dad at first was very jealous but to me he was more like an older brother. He protected me when I was at the palace and the guys would pick on me. I could hear a fondness in my mother's voice.

Mother aren't you a royal then? I asked her.

Well yes until I mated with your father.

Mom I didn't think there were any royal born females.

There are none inline with for the throne. My grandfather was the youngest son and my father was his youngest son and I am the youngest of eight so I am barely considered royal. When I mated with your father I mated a sub-royal thus changing my status. The she-wolf always takes on the the status of her mate. Now as far as your mate is concerned I'm not sure if you will take her status or she will yours, I'm not sure because of the prophecies. So please listen to what the Royal Family says very carefully. You must also realize I have no female cousins either. I was very rare. I can't help but wonder if the reason I was born was so that you would also carry the blood of a High Alpha King. You carry the blood of the last High Alpha King.

Mother I have many questions for you but I am due to meet with the Royal Family now. I had been talking with my parents as I changed into some comfortable jeans and a shirt. Now I must head to the High King and Queen's family room.
