EVE POV
"Eve you little sneak. You didn't tell me she would be here tonight." David tells me.
"Maria darling let me take that baby from you. You must be so tired," I tell her. "Let your Grandma Eve love on you."
"Eve why do you insist on calling yourself Grandma? Your not old enough to be a grandma." Maria says.
"Oh Maria there is so much you have to learn but believe me I am old enough to be a Grandma and even more." I tell Maria.
I hear Michael snickering. "Maria believe me when I tell you I have known Eve all my life and she has always looked the same."
"Michael that's enough." Then in a voice so low that only he can hear with his werewolf hearing. "She doesn't know anything and its not your place to tell her." The king says.
"Well I will agree with you there Michael. During my childhood, I would spend 1 to 2 weeks here every summer with Mary and no one really looks any different. I need there secret for staying young." Maria laughs.
"Maria, DeNice is beautiful and she seems to be good baby." David says.
"Thank you so much. I may be particle but I think she is beautiful as well. She is a good baby and Eve with her wide awake if you put her down she will walk." Maria told everyone.
I put DeNice down on the ground and she made a beeline to Michael and saying "Dada, Dada" "Sweetie that's not your Daddy that is Daddy's friend." Maria told the child as she held her arms out to Michael to be picked up.
I could see both the happiness and brokenness written all over him and looking at Maria the look of total confusion.
"I don't understand" I heard Maria mutter. She thought no one heard her but we all did because of our enhanced hearing.
"Maria I have fixed the roy... I mean the nursery up for her why don't we put her down and then we can talk." I told her.
" Thank you Eve."
"Come on squirt say good night to everyone." Maria said as she took DeNice into her arms and DeNice blew everyone a kiss.
