Bethany's POV
Six years ago, I left my horrid past in America to go on an adventure with my sister Violet across Australia. She had always been more extroverted than me, so when she offered I just had to say yes.

At the time I was working at Dan's to pay off my younger brother's college funds. He was going to make it big in Football but we were broke.

So I did a lot of shifts at Dan's to cover it. Dan also let me hold events to raise money for Kevin. I got enough money for his first year.

Then my life changed. I was raped.

"Jerry you have to go, I'm about to close up," I tell our local as he finishes the rest of his beer.

"I'm leaving," he mutters. "Have a good night Beth."

I smile at him. "You too."

I Watch him leave the bar and turn to head towards the bathrooms to clean. I get to the men's and suddenly a hand is covering a mouth. "Don't scream," he growls into my ear. "Don't make this hard on yourself."

Tears pool in my eyes and I struggle against him. He pushes me into the men's bathroom and I fall, hitting my head against the sink. I moan in pain and press my hand to my head.

There was blood.

My vision becomes blurry but I feel him tearing off my jeans and panties. He pushes me onto my stomach and he holds me down by pressing his arm onto my back. "You're a slut," he seethes. "Flirting with all the men that come in here."

"I don't," I whisper.

He grabs my throat and I struggle for breath as he chokes me. I scream in pain as he pushes into me, but it doesn't come out like that since he was choking me.

He starts fucking me with a hard and quick pace. It was not pleasurable at all and tears were pouring down my face along with snot. "Fuck your bleeding," he says. "You're a little virgin."

I sobbed and struggled against him, but every time I did he started choking me.

He holds himself inside me and he groans loudly, filling me up with his cum.

He pulls out and I fall against the floor. "Sorry to have to do this sweetheart, but I can't have you replaying this to my wife."

He hits me over the head and I blackout.

"Beth!?"

I turned to Violet who was quirking an eyebrow at me as she flipped through the airline food menu. "Sorry," I say quickly.

"I lost you there," she says. "You good?"

"I guess I'm a bit apprehensive about going back home," I admit. "I didn't find closure before leaving."

She takes my hand and squeezes it. "You put him behind bars Beth. You did."

It doesn't feel like it.

"Annie!" Kevin yells, grabbing me up in his arms. "Oh, I have missed you."

"Get off me," I laugh. He lets go of me and I kiss his cheek. "I've missed you too."

"You both are so tan," he comments.

"That's the Sunshine Coast for y'a," Violet says. She and Kevin share a hug too, but it is a bit more awkward. Those two clashed so they never got along.

"Thanks again for letting us stay at your house," I say.

"Anything for family," Kevin says. "Plus my home has heaps of rooms since I'm so rich because I'm a football star."

I laugh. "Subtle brag."

Kevin leads us to his Jeep and grabs our bags from us. On the way to his house, he tells us his stats for the season and how he already had another contract for three years with the Los Angeles Rams.

When we get to his house, he gives us a tour and Violet and I find out he has five bedrooms. Why does one person need five bedrooms?

"I want a big family once I settle down," Kevin argues. "But I'm twenty-four, I want to play the field."

"So then you can have multiple baby mamas," Violet retorts.

"Funny," Kevin drawls. "I have reservations for us tonight at Luigini's at six, that okay?"

"That's fine," I answer.

"Gives me enough time to nap," Violet states. "What room am I in?"

Kevin sighs. "Just pick one."

Violet rolls her eyes and walks off. I sit with Kevin on the couch as he switches the TV over to the football. "You play football, how can you watch it?" I complain.

"These teams are competition," Kevin argues. "I want to know what I am up against."

"You need a life outside football," I say.

He smiles. "Well, that's why you're here." I just huff. "What are your plans now that you are back?"

I shrug. "I don't know."

"Dans is always looking," Kevin murmurs.

"No," I say too coldly.

"Okay," he whispers. "The cafe is too I think."

I glare at him. "She works there."

"It's not her fault, Beth," Kevin says. "She went through just as much as you."

"I can't see her," I say. "I'm not ready."

Kevin nods. "Okay."

I don't want to think about him.
