Beth's POV
"Hey guys are you enjoying your meals so far?" I ask as I walk up to the yoga ladies' table. Well, ladies and one guy.

"Lovely as always," Beverley comments beaming up at me. Bev is Cole's mum. Cole is Georgie's husband.

Cole has a pretty dark past. He got kidnapped at the age of sixteen and was heavily tortured for two years. When they found him and he returned home, nobody could touch him as he went into these manic episodes and start beating the crap out of people.

Then he met Georgie and wanted to help himself for her and her kids. I gotta say Robert and Evan were so cute when they were little and now were handsome boys.

They are in here every afternoon doing their homework.

Oh yeah, I got the cafe job. It's such a nice place to work. Georgie in the kitchen, Beatrice the other waitress and Gerald the owner. He's not around much as he is pretty depressed about his wife passing away last year.

She had a five-year fight, but it was her time.

I know he and Georgie are in the middle of discussions about her buying the cafe from him. She'd be a great owner.

It was her choice to fire Jade after all. I knew she was familiar, but now I knew why. She was Georgie's friend when Georgie first got to town and when Georgie wanted to be with Cole, Jade was disgusted by it due to Cole's appearance. Dan was sleeping with Jade at the time and quickly ended it when he found out how she felt about his best friend.

I was very proud of Dan that day.

I've been meaning to go see him. I get outside the bar and my stomach drops through my ass. I'd go to his apartment but sadly it's on top of the bar. No loopholes.

"I'm sure Georgie will love to hear that," I say. Some of them were finished so I started stacking the plates.

"Are you single Beth?" Marilyn asks. She was Seb's mum. Seb is Lenny's husband. Lenny is Ashton's sister. Ashton was my rapist.

"I am," I say nervously. I know what these yoga ladies are like. Always trying to play matchmaker.

"You should meet Jill's son, Mickey," Pauline says. "He's a very nice boy."

"I'm not looking for anything," I say. "But thanks for the offer."

"There's Dan," Beverley suggests. "Are you against men that have a sexual past?"

I laugh nervously. "Look, Dan used to be my boss, so that's kind of an uncomfortable subject."

"Jesus Bev, remember she was raped at his bar," Marilyn hisses.

I give them a small smile and scurry away from the table. Marilyn always had a way of putting her foot in her mouth.

I place the plates in the sink and feel my hands shaking. "Beth?" Georgie questions her hand rubbing my back softly. "You alright?"

He pushes me onto my stomach and he holds me down by pressing his arm onto my back. "You're a slut," he seethes. "Flirting with all the men that come in here."

"Beth!?"

I snap out of it and jump back scared. However Georgie was behind me and she fell back, hitting her hand hard against the counter. She cries out in pain and holds her wrist to her chest.

Fuck.

*
"Yeah it's broken," the doctor says putting the x-ray results on the screen. Georgie's wrist was snapped in two.

"I'm so sorry," I croak, tears pooling in my eyes.

She grabs my hand with her good one and squeezes it. "It's fine, Beth."

"Where's my wife!?" I hear Cole's angry voice out in the hall. "I better get some fucking answers."

Georgie huffs and rolls her eyes. "Doctor that is my husband out there causing a scene," she says. "Shall we let him in?"

The doctor nods and walks over to the door. When he opens it, Cole storms in and rushes to Georgie's side. He cups her face and places kisses all over her.

"I'm okay," Georgie murmurs. "I just broke my wrist."

"I've placed a cast on, and depending on the results it will stay on between 4 to 12 weeks," Doctor explains.

"Will she be able to work?" I ask, my voice croaky.

He shakes his head. "I'm afraid not."

Georgie and I share a worried glance. "They will be fine without you," Cole tells her. "Beth you cooked at the Bar."

"I guess," I murmur.

"You'll do great," Georgie chirps. "I can still be there to assist you."

I nod. "I guess that could work."

Cole whistles and looks at the X-ray. "That's a clean break, how the heck did you manage that?"

"It was my fault," I whisper.

"No, it wasn't," Georgie argues. "Beth I've seen this before with Cole."

Cole frowns. "You have PTSD?"

I stammer. "W-what?"

"You had an episode Beth," Georgie murmurs. "Something triggered you and you went into a flashback. Like Cole used to before he got help."

Oh.

"If you want help you should go to our therapist," Cole says. "He did wonders on me."

Maybe this will be my closure.

I cannot hurt anybody else.
