Beth's POV
"I have to go," I pant against Dan's lips. "I needed to leave about ten minutes ago."

Dan continues to kiss me, sending my brain to mush. "Let's never work again so we can spend the day in bed," he murmurs.

I run my fingers up his bare chest and hum. "That does sound good, but Georgie still can't cook."

Dan groans. "Fucking Georgie."

"If that's what you want, but you kind of with me right now," I tease. I kiss him again and gently push him off me. I feel Dan's eyes on me as I strip off his shirt and put on my outfit for work.

"When do you finish?" Dan asks.

"Around 4," I answer. "Do you work today?" I walk into Dan's ensuite and start brushing my teeth.

"Just a couple of hours," Dan murmurs. "Have to do payroll and admin shit."

"You could hire someone for that," I giggle, with foam in my mouth. I spit and use his mouthwash before making my way back to his bed and sitting on the end of it. I pull my sneakers on and feel Dan's hands wrap around my waist and he places kisses all over the back of my neck.

"Let's go out tonight," he says. "I feel like it's been forever since I've taken you out."

"We went with Kev and Max to brunch last week," I murmur.

"Just me and you," he whispers.

I glance over my shoulder at him. "I would love that."

He kisses me hard and plunges his tongue into my mouth.

Shit, I'm going to be late for work.

I scuffle inside the cafe and smoke gently at Beatrice behind the counter. "Hey."

She smirks. "You look flush."

"I overslept," I lie. Certainly wasn't making out with Dan like a teen before my shift.

"Yeah, definitely been there," Beatrice says with a teasing tone. "Georgie is already out back."

I hurry out to the kitchen and smile at Georgie who is writing the grocery list for the week. "Sorry I'm late," I murmur.

"It's fine, it's a little quiet this time of the year," she says. "Plus I'm sure Dan is a real distraction. Especially if it has to do with the hickey on your neck."

I blush and scramble over to the oven. It was reflective so I could see the red mark on my neck. No wonder Beatrice was looking at me like that.

I was going to kill Dan

*
"I'm sorry," Dan laughs.  "I honestly didn't think it was that bad."

"I look like a vampire bit me," I complain. Dan was sitting at his desk in his office and I took it upon myself to enter and make myself comfortable in his lap.

"Well I mean I kind of like my mark on you," Dan murmurs. His hands wrap around me and grab my ass in a tight grip. "Tells other guys to back the fuck off."

"Because I'm yours?"

"Of course, you mine," Dan says. "I don't share."

"Good," I mutter. "You mine too."

"Baby, I haven't been with anybody else in two years," Dan murmurs. "I am all yours."

"Good to know," I murmur.

A knock at the door breaks us apart and I sit up on his desk. A woman I don't recognise walks in. She was African-American, had two long braids in her brown hair and I was in awe at her emerald green eyes.

"Hey Boss, Cam just called and he can't come in tomorrow," she says.

"That's fine, I'll close," Dan says. "Did he say why?"

"Something about his kid being sick and the missus can't get the day off," she explains.

"Tynesha this is my girlfriend, Bethany," Dan says. "Beth this is my new hire, Tynesha."

"So you Beth," Tynesha says. "Your introduction booklet was so much help."

"I just thought it may make it easier for new hires," I murmur. "I'm glad to see Dan finally replaced me."

"Good timing for myself actually, I just got into town and needed a job," Tynesha says. "Dan and I go way back."

They do?

Dan can see the look on my face and his hand falls onto my thigh. "Tynesha was Emily's best friend," Dan says.

"I better get back to work," Tynesha says. "Nice meeting you, Beth."

"You too," I whisper.

She shuts the door behind her and I turn to an amused Dan. "You were jealous," he states.

"A little," I admit.

Dan hums. "Well, you don't need to be," Dan murmurs. I giggle as he pulls me off the desk into his lap. I wrap my arms around his neck and play with the ends of his hair. "You know that I have a bit of a past," he says. "We are going to run into a few of these girls."

"I know that," I mutter. "Doesn't mean I have to like it."

"Fair," he says. "Just as long as you know that you are the only woman for me now and that you won't hold this over me."

"Never," I say. I lean down and kiss him. "I promise."
