(Kumotta pov)
About a month or two had passed since our return back from the land of waves, we went straight to the Hokage's office as soon as we got back and informed him on the mission. He was a little upset at first that we didn't return after finding out the danger, but was impressed when he heard of our abilities against Zabuza and Haku, along with Gato and his men. He then dismissed us and allowed me to take a few days off to recover before attending any missions.
During this time I reflected on my time unconscious and talking with Shisui. I tried to see if I could reach that state again to talk with him but to no avail. So instead I spent the first day just relaxing and then went to hang out with Sakura, we went out to eat and she kept trying to flirt, acting like it was a date, but I only saw it as two friends hanging out. We then went to the training grounds where I taught her some Genjutsu, to my surprise she picked up on it very well. It may have something to do with her chakra control. I then told her I wouldn't mind hanging out again in which she seemed happy by my comment.
I then went on a few other missions here and there, only D rank missions but at least I'm getting paid for it. Did a few missions with team 8, Kiba was annoying like usual, and Shino creeped me out like he always does. Don't get me wrong, I genuinely like Shino, he was one of the only kids I would talk to back at the academy. His bugs creep me out though. Then theirs Hinata, she is the only Hyuga I can stand. She's the only one that sees me as a person and not just some kind of rat that deserves to be kicked around. I also did some missions with team 10, Shikamaru's lazy attitude annoyed me but the kid is smart, he may ever be smarter then me. Choji was another one of those kids I always talked to back at the academy, could definitely lose some weight though. Finally Ino... I actually really like her. Sure she loves flirting with me, like way more than Sakura, but just like Sakura she also will listen to what I have to say and never judge or look at me differently. Anyways today I'm back with Team 7 and I can't wait to work with Sasuke and everyone else.
(3rd person pov)
Team 7 was sitting on a bridge waiting for Kakashi to show up so they could get started on their mission, when Kumotta showed up instead.
Sasuke: Kumotta?
Naruto: Hey! Long time no see!
Kumotta: Naruto it's been like a week since you last saw me.
Naruto: Eh.
Sakura: <cheerfully> Hiya Kumotta! You're with us today I assume?
Kumotta: Yep.
After catching up with everyone Kakashi finally showed up and made another lame excuse for being late which annoyed Naruto and Sakura.
Kakashi: Calm down, calm down. Are you all ready for the next mission?
Naruto: <excitedly> Oh I'm ready Kakashi Sensei. And hey no more of this lame beginner stuff okay? I want a chance to prove myself. A real mission, worthy of a ninja like myself.
Kumotta: <thinking> well this beginner stuff should be just perfect then.
Kakashi: That's great Naruto anyways take it easy.
Naruto then turned and started glaring at Sasuke which confused the White haired Uchiha until Sakura explained the situation to him in which his response was a sweatdrop.
Kumotta: So much for teamwork.
Sakura: Tell me about it.
(Time skip)
Squad 7 could be seen in a backyard pulling weeds out of the ground of a garden.
Kumotta was next to Sasuke when he pulls a weed out and looks at the raven haired boy.
