Kumotta woke up earlier than he normally did today, he took a walk to the graveyard and visited his father and brother's grave.
Kumotta: Dad, I know you are probably watching over me right now. I dedicate this match to you, to prove to the Hyuga that Kagami Uchiha was not a threat to the Hyuga clan. That he was a hero of this village! And Big Brother, I know you visit me in my mind some days but I do miss visiting you here. I vow this match to listen to your words, and try to help change the path that Neji walks. I got to go now, I have one last stop before the match begins.
He started to walk away into a further corner of the graveyard where a lone grave lays. The name on the grave...
Sagi-shi Hyuga...
Kumotta stared at the grave for a solid minute before he decided to speak.
Kumotta: ...I forgive you, Sagi-shi. I understand that you were corrupted by your clan to do so. I hold no more Ill will against you. I hope that can finally bring you peace...
Kumotta then walks away looking back at the grave one last time before he leaves.
(Timeskip)
Everyone is lined up for the chunin exams, though two people are missing, both Sasuke and Kumotta Uchiha.
Naruto: He usually doesn't run late, I wonder what's going on.
Proctor: The first match up is Kumotta Uchiha vs Neji Hyuga, the rest of you leave. If Kumotta Uchiha doesn't show up in 5 minutes he is automatically disqualified.
Almost exactly on cue Kumotta appeared right in front of everyone in a puff of smoke.
Kumotta: I'm sorry I'm late.
Proctor: It's fine, the rules are simple. You will fight until you cannot fight no more, if I feel the match needs to be stopped I will stop the fight. Do you understand?
Both boys nodded.
Proctor: Let the final round of the chunin exams, Begin!
Both boys stared at each other, neither one moving an inch.
Neji: Well? Cmon then! Aren't you going to destroy me?
Kumotta kept a cool demeanor and looked at the boy.
Kumotta: What makes you this way? Why do you spew so much hate?
Neji was taken aback by this, the boy who held so much pent up aggression towards him had a very calm demeanor. This aggravated the boy.
Neji: <angry> how dare you talk to me about hatred! You have no idea what it's like to be branded as filth. You even killed your best friend.
This hurt Kumotta, but he still kept his calm demeanor. He knew if he let his anger get the best of him, this boy would mop the floor with him.
Kumotta: You are mistaken, I was attacked by him and your clan mates, I had no intentions of killing anyone that day. But Sagi-shi nearly took my life.
Neji: Liar!!!
Neji rushed at Kumotta attempting to strike his chakra points, Kumotta took note of this and dodged his attacks, he knew blocking them could result in a damaged chakra point. That would be his downfall.
Neji went for a strike towards his neck, but Kumotta leaned backwards and went into a handstand kicking his feet forward towards the Hyuga, sending him flying in the air. Neji recovered smoothly smirking.
Neji: As expected, you're good.
Kumotta: Same can be said about you, the gentle fists technique is a pain to fight against, but it has its weaknesses.
