My head was pushed to the side, the force of another punch caused my face to throb. My head was pushed against the rock wall of the cave, Modu was ruthless, but they were nothing in comparison to my father, who was quick and struck sharply. He knew the correct angle to hit me to cause the most damage. Modu would just hit and cut without any pattern.

"You, stupid, failure," my father said through punches. I was surprised he actually cared to do this himself. "Do you know why I'm doing this?"

"Nope," I answered simply. "Though, I've got a feeling you are going to tell me."

"Oh, look, your clairvoyant powers are thriving," My father exclaimed. "Well, I will tell you. You are a failure."

I nearly burst out laughing, he had told me a few times that I was a failure. It was something I grew up with but didn't care much about. "Never would've thought,"

He sent another punch my way, and I had no other choice but to endure it. "You are the proof of my first mistake. And now, you are proven to be useless. I am determined to reap something worthwhile from these miserable years."

"I thought that you wanted my powers and cooperation?" I raised an eyebrow. It hurt to do the simple action, but I didn't care too much.

"And I will get it, but nothing is going right. I might as well take my anger out on you."

I rolled my eyes and sighed, pushing my head against the wall. I was used to my father's anger by now.

"You haven't exactly told me anything new," I said through grunts of pain.

He let out a short scream of anger before his fist clenched around a handful of my hair. "Your mother, that pesky little bitch, is still alive."

My body became numb at the words. That couldn't be true. If that was the case, then why didn't she come get me? We didn't have a bad relationship when she was alive, before I thought she had died. She wouldn't leave me with my father, who flaunted his power and arrogance with physical violence. Maybe she just didn't care that much about me. That would make sense.

That couldn't be right, this had to be one of his mind tricks that he decided to pull on me.

He hit me a few more times before grunting in frustration. "Why?" he hit me one final time, the pain caused sparks to shimmer in the darkness. His stomping footsteps then began to move further away.

I didn't know what he was talking about, what kind of demons he had in his head, but I knew that he would continue to take his anger out on me for as long as I remained here. I wasn't worried about him using my powers, because I didn't really have any powers which could cause a lot of damage. I simply see the past, I had potential to do more, but I didn't care for it.

"That was a very touching family meeting," Modu said as they entered. They came so close to my face; I could feel their breath. I didn't know that fairies could breathe. "I enjoyed the show very much."

I tried my best to sit up. "Glad you had fun; how much was your ticket?"

They just laughed and stood up, moving over the table which held weapons. "Priceless, but I'm a VIP."

I didn't know what else to do but huff and wait for the oncoming pain.

"Your friend is quite the fighter," Modu said with a hint of admiration. "I must admit, I wasn't expecting to find a fairy in this mission. He never told me anything about that."

"Did he tell you a lot?" I asked curiously. If they were going to try and get as much information out of me, or whatever they planned, I may as well try my hardest to get some information for myself.
