I'm standing in the elevator with Owen, Tom and Link.

Link: first day back, right?

Owen: yeah. Morning, Tom. Morning, Sav.

Tom: oh, shoot. Is this weird for you? We've all shared the same, mm, how should I say it? Pastimes? Lady friends?

Savannah: I've been pregnant four times, and this is more nauseating than any of those pregnancies.

Tom: you have poo on your collar. Made you look. Oh, you are such a stand-up guy. Leaving Teddy all alone in a motel with a new baby.

I scoff at Tom.

Savannah: if you think for one second that men have control over a mother's life, you're a bigger imbecile than I thought. Speaking as a mother, I will actually sucker punch you if you think that.

Tom: that's a funny way to talk to your boss. I mean, since your friends went rogue, Catherine made me God of this place. So, practice kneeling. Maybe throw in a few prayers.

I ball up my hand into a fist before pounding on the emergency stop button. I turn around to face Tom and grab him by his shirt collar.

Savannah: I think you've forgotten who you're talking to, Thomas. You may be the Chief of Chiefs, but I am Savannah Avery-Collins– part owner and board member of Grey-Sloan Memorial and representative of the Catherine Fox Foundation. I make every single decision regarding the hospital. I am the daughter of Catherine Fox, and she trusts my judgement. If you disagree with me in any way, Catherine will give your job to me. You know she will. If you don't stop being an egotistic jackass, you'll be the one saying a prayer!

I hit the emergency button again and sit in silence until we get to my floor. I turn to the guys as the doors open.

Savannah: have a good day, gentlemen.

3rd Person POV:

The men in the elevator watch Savannah walk out of the elevator in terror.

Link: please tell me I'm not the only one who's scared of her.

Owen: nope, not the only one.

I walk up to the group of residents Bailey was talking to.

Bailey: but Alex Karev and Meredith Grey are my creations. I made them the surgeons they are.

Savannah: not this again. Bailey, you played a small part in making them who they are. You know who else made them who they are? Richard Webber. Arizona Robbins. Callie Torres. Derek Shepherd. Hell, even I have a small bit of credit behind that. Along with every single other attending that's worked here. So, if you'll excuse me, I have a student to teach. DeLuca, let's go. You're with me.

Bailey: hold up. DeLuca's on my service and as Chief, I get him.

Savannah: first of all, Koracick agreed that I get DeLuca. Considering the fact that he's my resident and he's already very behind for... multiple reasons. You should know not to argue with me, Bailey. Nobody wins that battle. Ask Jackson. Or Koracick. Or Owen. DeLuca, let's go. I only have so much patience today.

3rd Person POV:

The group watches DeLuca walk off with Savannah.

Levi: I want to be her.

Helm: same. Can I be her?

Bailey: no. 'Cause I didn't make her.

I was paged to the pit for a trauma, and I run into Jackson and Jeremy while grabbing a trauma gown.

Maggie: hey, how's freedom? You enjoying it?
