We finished eating and Julian asked for the bill. I opened my purse and brought out my card in case we are splitting the bill. However, Julian paid without asking and I dropped my card back in my purse.

“I brought you here, it’s obvious I will be paying, isn’t it?” He said and I just shrugged.

“So, did you enjoy the pudding?” He asked with a slight smile and I think he already knew the answer.

“It was good.” I replied cooly.

“Just good? I bet you almost bit your tongue with how hard you were savoring the taste.”

“It’s bad manners to stare at people who are eating.” I glare at him.

“But you had stared while my brother was eating during your date.”

“So he told you everything that happened?” I asked in astonishment.

“Yes, including how you had scarfed down your honey dessert like someone who hadn't eaten for days.” He laughed lightly and now I knew how he had assumed that I would love what he had ordered.

“I didn’t scarf it down, I always eat with manners!” I exclaimed defensively.

“Whatever makes you feel like a lady. Let’s go.” He smirked, stood up and walked out.

I couldn’t help but create a scene in my head, Jared was telling Julian every single thing that happened on our date night and they both laughed loudly at my predicament especially when I had called my dad for money.

I shook my head to clear the thoughts away and exhaled heavily. What’s done is done, now I need to put on my big girl trousers and not show a hint of embarrassment till I am back in the comfort of my home.

I got this!

I went outside to see Julian by the car, waiting outside. He smirks again when he saw me and opened the door. I got there, muttered a ‘thank you’ and step into the car, immediately putting on my seat belt.

He closed the door before making his way to the driver’s side. After getting in, he starts the car and our journey continues.

The car came to a stop again after about twenty minutes and I looked around the unfamiliar area.

“I guess it’s not been long since you moved into this city, you look lost whenever we make a stop.” Julian observed.

Now why would I tell my potential kidnapper that my family and I moved here six months ago and that I haven’t been going anywhere else except my place of work and my house.

He could use that to his advantage and I’m not taking any chances, in case his agenda isn’t as pure as I’m starting to believe.

“No. You guessed wrong. I know my way around quite well, I just love looking around.” I lied.

He hummed and I looked towards him, I think he believes me. Wow, lying has never been my strong point, I’m improving.

He was my door again as it opened and he motioned for me to step out which I did as my eyes swept around the area.

This place was bustling with people compared to where we were coming from. I don’t know which scenario I preferred the most, probably somewhere in between the two.

I followed him as he walked. He was too fast and my eyes cast down as I just follow his shoes which stopped after a two minutes of walking. I looked up and could see we are at a supermarket.
