The girl woke up with a sharp intake of breath. First things first. She felt very disoriented, she looked around and saw a few wooden boxes within a metal cage that she found herself in. Beyond the cage were lights on every wall. As she was still trying to make sense of what was around her, a loud, horrifying screech could be heard. Something in the screech made her feel so unbelievingly hopeless and scared, but there was also this familiar feeling. Before she could have the time to try and remember why that screech Woke some part of her the cage, she was in started moving upwards in fast pace.

The lights set few meters apart started to form on a long. Almost gliding line of light that made the wall experience even more ominous, if that was even possible.

She was not sure how long was the cage going upwards, but finally it stopped with a loud clash of metal and a jawed that made some of the boxes move around and fall on the sea through ground.

OK, it stopped. Oh my... I need a moment. She thought to herself, but before she got the chance, a set of solid metal doors opened up and a small red light that was set to where the normal lights used to be down in the pit turned green with a loud buzzing noise.

The girl was curious of what was up there, so she stood up onto her two wobbly feet and pushed the metal door of the cage open. The light from outside the box seemed to blind her.

Then she waited, just for a while.

For what? She didn't know.

Maybe for the something that screached down in a pit to attack her. Maybe for a person to look down to a cage and help her out of it.

But there was nothing.

No one.

There was just the blinding light that started to look more and more like a sky and a light breeze that she could feel on her sweaty skin. The girl knew she couldn't jump up the cage, not on her own. So, she organized a few of the boxes so that they would make a makeshift stairs and, hunched over, climbed up. With a few steps, her feet hit the solid ground.

The wind was then breezing through her hair and around her body. She closed her eyes to bask in that feeling, founding some comfort in it, no longer locked in a small, mostly dark space. The girl stayed that way for a few moments before she opened her eyes and stood up to her full height, breathing in the smell of dirt, pine and wind.

With cautious steps, she explored the vast courtyard. The  air carried the scent of nature, yet the feeling of isolation lingered. The cracked stone floor was uneven, and the overgrown grass whispered as it brushed against her legs. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching her from the shadows.

As she walked towards the grove of trees in one corner, the wind carried the scent of pine, filling the air with an earthy fragrance. The towering walls loomed overhead, casting long shadows that danced across the courtyard. The thick ivy that clung to the stone seemed to conceal secrets within its green tendrils.

The girl reached the grove and discovered a small oasis of nature amidst the cold, stone surroundings. The trees provided a temporary respite from the unsettling atmosphere, their branches swaying gently in the breeze. Yet, the feeling of being trapped persisted.

She explored every corner of the courtyard, searching for an exit, but the imposing walls offered no clues.

The walls had to be hundreds of feet high and formed a perfect square around her. Each side seemed to be split in the exact middle. A large Grove of trees filled one of the coroners, but other than that there was nothing.

No one...

Panic began to creep in as she realized the magnitude of her predicament.

There was no way out.
