Allie's heart raced as she sprinted towards the medic hut, a sense of urgency pushing her towards Benny. The glade was usually a place of routine, but today seemed different. The air crackled with tension, and the distant sound of running feet added to the unease.
However, her trajectory changed abruptly as she spotted a Greenie-someone new to the glade-rushing towards the gate. Before she could process the situation, Gally intercepted, putting a halt to the Greenie's escape attempt. Allie, relieved that the immediate danger was averted, slowed her pace and stopped to catch her breath. A few moments later, a thunderous clap echoed through the Glade as the walls slammed shut, trapping them all within the stone confines. Allie glanced up, imagining the realization on the Greenie's face. The unspoken truth lingered in the air:
We are trapped.
Allie turned around and this time walked to the Homstead. Meanwhile Gally still stood over Thomas. "You glad I didn't let you go out now?" he said with his signature scowl.
The blue-eyed boy nodded shakily, his gaze reflecting the realization that they were all trapped together within the walls, bound by the mysteries of the Maze that surrounded them. "Yeah."

"Hi Benny." Allie said when she sat down on the edge of his bed. "How're you doing sweetie." she continued with gentle smile. Ben was only a year younger the Allie, but she couldn't help but feel responsible for not only him, but every boy in the Glade. Allie could not believe she would be scratching another name on the wall. Ben's, nevertheless. But she always understood the danger of being a Runner and Benny understood it too.
"'M alright' Boss Lady." Ben said with a slur to his words. "Never better."
Allie knew the Runner just tried to reassure her. Because she held his hand... and it was trembling. "Alright then, tough guy. I will leave you to it then." she said and started to let go of his hand while standing up to leave.
"No!" Benny yelled out, and the strength with which he held her hand said enough about in how much pain he was in. He was looking up at her as if she was the saving grace, his guardian angel, and she wanted to leave him. Dave wasn't lying when he said everybody respected her. But it was more than that. They looked up to her, knowing that she was the first person in the Glade and that she had to survive a whole month on her own. They felt a strongly about protecting her, keeping her save, they felt that way whenever she was around.
Allie's eyes softened as she tried to hide the sadness she felt for the Runner. "Okay Benny," she said, sitting back down "I won't." and squeezed his hand back.
As hours passed in the quietude of the Medic hut, Benny layed still, his hand firmly clasped around Allie's. The rhythmic sounds of his labored breath filled the space, a haunting reminder of the struggles that lingered beneath the surface. Allie, seated by his side, couldn't tear her gaze away from him.
Benny's breaths were short and hard, each one sounding like a battle against an unseen force. The weight of the unknown illness that plagued him weighed heavily on Allie's shoulders. She felt a profound sense of helplessness, her fingers intertwined with Benny's, as if seeking solace in the connection. As the night wore on, fatigue claimed Allie. The rhythmic sounds of Benny's labored breathing acted as a lullaby, coaxing her into a restless slumber.

Allie's heart pounded in her chest as she sprinted through the maze of moving walls, the mechanical sounds echoing around her. Panic surged through her veins as she took rapid turns, desperately trying to outmaneuver the relentless movement of the walls closing in on her.
Left, right, left, and right again-each turn only seemed to intensify the feeling of being trapped. The walls seemed to be conspiring against her, converging with an eerie precision that made her question the very nature of the Maze. It was as if the labyrinth itself had come to life, a mechanical entity with a singular purpose.
In the midst of her frantic escape, a chilling mechanical sound reached her ears. Before she could comprehend the source, a section of the wall in front of her started moving. Allie's eyes widened in disbelief, and instinct kicked in. She ran with all her might, fueled by the adrenaline coursing through her veins. The chase continued, a deadly game of cat and mouse. Allie's breaths were heavy, her legs burning with each stride. The walls closed in relentlessly, urging her to find an escape route. Yet, no matter which way she turned, the labyrinth seemed determined to confine her.
With a sudden halt, Allie stumbled upon a shocking sight; a grotesque creature stood at the other end of the alleyway. The abomination resembled a monstrous fusion of animal and machine, its mechanical appendages poised menacingly. A surge of terror gripped Allie, but with quick reflexes, she turned and sprinted in the opposite direction.
The creature unleashed a battle cry, and the chase resumed. Allie's ears were filled with the nightmarish sounds of the pursuing horror; metal legs scraping against the pavement, the creature's cries echoing like a haunting melody. The labyrinth seemed to close in around her, pushing her to her limits.
Right, left, and right again-Allie's world blurred as she navigated the Maze, the creature's relentless pursuit driving her forward into the unknown twists and turns. The walls, like silent sentinels, continued their mechanical dance, seemingly indifferent to the life-and-death chase unfolding within their confines. The grieving like cries of the creature following her like a loyal shadow.
