You smiled as you laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling. It was Christmas morning and so far, everything seemed to be going as planned. 

The house was quiet as Severus was the only other one home for the holidays. Or, so he thought. 

Severus had never been a fan of Christmas- or holidays in general- but Christmas had always been a big deal for you, Remus, and Lucius. And though not one of you would say it, seeing Severus only halfheartedly willing to participate in this holiday always brought all of your spirits down. 

So this year, the three of you had devised a plan so that Severus would be happy to spend Christmas with each other. 

Lucius had been gone a week, living in the Paris flat as he had told you guys he had a meeting in Paris for three weeks he needed to attend. And Remus had switched the days around on the calendar so that it looked like today was full moon. He had left last night. 

You were supposed to fake being sick, but you had actually come down with a bug for the past three days, which had left you miserable and unhappy, sure that your sickness was going to ruin everything. 

Except this morning, you felt absolutely perfect. You would still have to feign being sick and all, but this was going to work out well. 

As he always did, Severus came in to check on you at nine. You had heated your body temperature just slightly with your wand so that you still felt like you had your fever. 

"I'm sorry you're feeling so terribly, especially on Christmas. I know you love this holiday." Severus murmured softly, gently petting your hair back in a soothing manner. 

"It's okay." You mumbled. "It's just the two of us and you've never been a huge fan of it anyways." 

"Still," Severus murmured softly, his hand pausing as he rested it a-top your head. "I know how much this means to you. If you still want to do something, like one of those Christmas movies, I will find something." 

You smiled a little. It seemed as though the plan was already working. He would never have offered to have done this before. "Thank you Sevy. Perhaps later if I feel a little better?" 

"Of course." Severus actually smiled, kissing your forehead. "Do you want me to stay?" 

"Yes please." You whispered. "Will you read to me until I fall asleep?" 

Severus smiled. "Of course." 

Good, this would give Lucius and Remus time to set everything up. 

Severus went and grabbed a book called 'The Starless Sea', curling up with you in bed, reading the soothing story to you in his deep, baritone voice. And despite not actually meaning to fall asleep, you drifted off, cuddled up with your husband. 

When you awoke, Severus was still with you, although he himself seemed to have also fallen asleep. You quickly texted Remus 'now' and a few moments later, saw Remus shoot silently past your doorframe. Your heart beat quickly in his chest until you saw Remus dart past your door one more time, this time presents drifting after him in his wake. 

"Severus?" You asked sleepily. Severus stirred after a moment, his dark onyx eyes fluttering open. "Oh sorry." 

"It's alright." Severus said, his sleep filled voice shooting pleasure to the depths of your stomach. "What did you need love?"
