May 12th:

I really hated to admit that Charles had a good choice in clothing. After ruining my clothes with ingredients for cookies he'd bought me basically a whole new wardrobe, alongside a dress for today's gala.

"You look lovely." He commented as I walked in through the reception in my red dress, it was like a dark red rather than bright, his eyes trailing up and down my body.

"Yeah my eyes are up here" I joked to him but he instantly snapped his eyes to mine and began to ramble things about which made me laugh harder, I enjoy stressing him out.

The drive was short and surprisingly he didn't drive us, but we had a chauffeur. But once we got there I simply didn't like it, The loud music, flashing lights, and sexual music, not to mention the girls wearing next to nothing. It was derogatory and I felt exposed, like a snack in the other men's eyes so maybe that's why I stayed close to Charles, using him as my protection.

It wasn't that I wasn't used to this sort of atmosphere but everyone is powerful in Monaco, at home nobody would try anything with me.
They know my family. But here it's game.

"You don't have to stay you know, you can sit in the car for a few hours I don't think the driver will mind." He told me but I didn't want to be anywhere he wasn't, people melted when they spoke to him.

"They want you to show up here of all places?" I screwed my face up at him as the stench of alcohol became somewhat overpowering, when usually I would've been down for it, the fact everyone was here and male and looked like they could bury me and make it seem like an accident I didn't want anything to do with drinks.

"I have to show up Mon Cheri." People had now really started noticing the two of us pointing to Charles and whispering. Especially the familiar two boys, "Charles! You made it." Arthur smiled and I wondered if this was really a place to bring him

I didn't even try to move away when Charles grabbed my hand, moving closer to me and whispering a quick, "My family will watch you."

I glanced down at our intertwined hands.
"Lorenzo! Arthur!" Charles greeted, giving them a quick, one armed hug, "Nice to see you boys."

His fake demeanour towards Lorenzo made me want to laugh but I kept it in, Lorenzo then turned to me with a smile "Hoes the whole marriage thing going Evangeline? My advice is run whilst you can."

I grimaced "No it's going good. Why do you ask?"

Charles squeezed my hand, bringing it to his lips and placing a kiss on my knuckles. When the boy didn't answer, Charles continued chatting to Arthur about the charity match and his knee.

When Lorenzo began to get mouthy again, "I guess it wasn't, now if you'll excuse us, we're going to get some drinks" Charles pulled me away from the two, tugging me behind him gently but I could still feel their eyes on the both of us.

"You have an interesting relationship with Lorenzo." I told him over the music once we were a significant distance away from them.

"I don't know if he's jealous or just likes to be annoying these days." Charles replied. I nodded and noticed that Charles was still gripping my hand so I carefully tugged it out of his grasp. Charles didn't think twice about the action and if he did, he didn't think twice about it, using his free hand to call the bartender over, ordering a set of drinks for the two of us.

I spent my time trying not to look around the club, focusing my gaze on the drinks while Charles spoke to people around him. He was in full PR mode, shaking hands with men I had never seen before and standing staunch.
I'd be lying if I said it wasn't even slightly attractive.

One of the girls came up to the small group, offering around drinks but what angered me was the fact that she stayed a little too long, flashing him a wink and letting her fingers linger on his. I wasn't jealous, not in the slightest. Just annoyed.
He didn't even try to push her off.

It didn't take me long to gather that the owner of this club had sponsored the business  in the early days of his father's career and Charles has been going there monthly to repay them in appearances.

But Charles couldn't get his mind off of Eva, off of the little red dress she wore like a glove. He didn't think red could get any better until he saw it on her. As he got sucked into conversation with somebody else he then was reminded of the fact he wasn't here alone, and Eva was not with him, Charles was starting to get second thoughts about bringing her with him.

The club was loud, too loud for his liking but usually Charles wouldn't have cared, sculling drink after drink and allowing himself to have some fun, maybe even going out the back with someone because him getting time out to relax and let go was rare, but now he was stressing over her being alone in this club of people she doesn't know.

Then again Eva wasn't hard to spot, one of the only females in the building and stunning at that, "Dancing without me?" Charles asked as he reached his wife, twirling around with some random guy Charles had never seen before.

"Course she is," the guy snarled "She can do better than you."

Charles chuckled "Excuse me that is my wife, I'd like you to walk away now," Charles waited for the man to leave "Bye now."

"I don't see a ring." The guy was threateningly close to him now and I just knew it wasn't going to end well.

"I'll give you one last chance" Charles didn't even have to call his guys because in seconds
Joe and someone else was behind him, "Step away, because I could get my guys to sort you out here and now and no one would even try to stop me"

He backed away, not before sending Charles one last glare, "That wasn't very nice," I paused "Hm jealous are we?" I asked him

"What did you think you were doing?" He grumbled, standing in front of me. The other man had cleared off now and Charles simply looked pissed. But he didn't have a reason to be, he hadn't seemed to care about what I had done up to this point.

"Having fun. Is there a problem?" I smiled innocently, noticing his' eyes rake up and down my body as they had earlier that night.

"Someone just told me that my wife was dancing with some other guy and I had to find out for myself if it was true" He moved closer.
"Do you think that's okay?"

"Are you jealous?" He tensed slightly at my question, gritting his teeth. "I thought we were just friends?"

He placed his hands around my waist from behind and I found myself leaning back into his grasp. His breath was so close to my neck and I couldn't help but let out a small whimper when he tightened his arms around me slightly. The two of us began to move to the beat of the song.

"Not jealous, I just don't want people to think that my wife is up for grabs, I've got a reputation to keep up, and I can't have you ruining that."

This was easily the most intimate the two of us had been and it made me feel almost flustered.
But I wasn't going to just give him what he wanted, I was still pissed about the waitress.

I shrugged, "Well you were busy watching the little brunette waitress run around in her booty shorts, thought I might as well do what I want too."

"If you wanted attention you could've just asked."I shrugged his remark off he was waffling now.

The song picked up slightly and, Spinning around, I came face to face with a very red-faced Charles, his hair was tousled but it still managed to look perfect.

Just as his face started inching closer to mine, his breath fanning my lips, I removed my hands, tugging his off of my body and stepped away, "I want to go home now, go find the waitress if you want a kiss."
