Carlos POV

The school cafeteria clapped in synch as Stephanie wrestled Kyla to the ground. They were pulling each others hair and you could see their nails on the floor beside their earrings.

"Get off of me!" yelled Kyla, "You're going to regret this!"

Stephanie gave her a dirty look, "Regret what? Regret ripping out a few of your hairs?"

Stephanie ripped out a chunk of Kyla's hair and I swear, it looked like a little kid had cut off a chunk of someones hair with safety scissors. The chunk of hair laid on the floor and you could see a bald spot of Kylas head.

Kyla screeched and Stephanie laughed. They wrestled some more but the principal walked in, "What are you girls doing!?"

Stephanie got off of Kyla and they were both escorted to the principals office. The janitors put the nails and chunk of hair in one small bag and the earrings on the table.

Everyone went back to eating and talking but I was still hooked on what had happened. I transferred to Maplewood High School after getting severely bullied.

"What got you smiling like that?" Calvin asked me, "You like Kyla?"

"No, it's nothing," I responded as I got up to throw away my tray.

As I walked towards the trash can, I couldn't stop thinking about Stephanie. She just kept going at Kyla despite her having a reputation for picking fights.

After school, I tried to find her.

"What do you want?" the lady in the main office asked me.

"What's Stephanies locker?" I asked, "I need to give her an assignment."

"What's the last name? Kim? Whitlock? Laurent? Monet?" she asked as she started typing something on her computer.

"Monet," I responded, "She's French so it's gotta be Monet."

"B47, near the music room," she said.

I thanked her and walked off, Stephanie Monet, the schools delinquent.

I found her trying to slam her locker shut but in her attempt to close it, books kept falling out.

"Need help?" I asked, "If you keep slamming it, books will keep falling out."

"I know that," she said rolling her eyes, "Piss off!"

I picked up her books and gently closed the locker, "See?"

She nodded her head and began to walk off as she slung her backpack on.

"Lets be friends!" I commented, "It'll be fun!"

She gave me an annoyed look, "Go harass someone else."

I kept following her and she swung her head around, "Get lost!"

I grabbed her arm, "I admire your bravery," I stated.

She stopped walking, "Oh yeah? How so?"

"At my old school, I could never stand up for myself," I said, "That's why I'm here now, Maplewood High."

"Go act like a little boy around your mother," she said, "I don't have time for your so called sob story."

"They tried to kill me," I said, "They would burn me with a hair iron. Some times, they would pour cold water on me in the winter and lock me in the janitors closet."

She stopped walking again but this time she didn't look like she wanted to kill me but rather someone else.

"Who?" she smiled, "Which school?"

"I'm not trying to get you to kill them, Stephanie," I said, "I admire your bravery and wish I was more like you, thats all."

She looked me up and down, "Follow me."
