Hinata's POV
"Do you think he'll wake up?" Tiffany asked as she sat down.
I looked at Tristan's lifeless body. He was lying down on a hospital bed with all sorts of tubes shoved into his veins and he was wearing an oxygen mask.
"It's just a coma. He's not dead," I assured her.
"How do you know for sure?"
"I just do, Tiffany."
She crossed her arms and pouted, "I want my best friend back."
"Me too but don't torment him too much about it when he wakes up."
She nodded and stared intensely at Tristan. I couldn't tell what she was thinking but the look on her face told me she was worried about something other than him waking up.
Suddenly, Tiffany sprung up from her chair, "Tristan, why won't you wake up!"
She was crying and I had to pull her away, "Let's go back to the hotel, okay?"
"No, I want my best friend back."
She held onto his hand and began to hum the French national anthem.
"Why are you humming the national anthem of france?" I asked, titling my head to the side a bit.
"Do you prefer America? I can squawk like an eagle too."
I didn't say anything and she continued to hum the same song for the next few seconds. Suddenly, she started humming the Korean national anthem.
"I don't think that's going to wake him up, Tiffy. Just leave him be for now."
"He hates being alone! I can't leave him!"
Sometimes, I couldn't help but wonder if Tiffany actually liked Tristan genuinely or just saw him as her pawn.
"He's not alone, he has this thoughts," I stated as I took her arm.
She yanked her arm loose from mine, "I don't trust his thoughts or even him in general after what happened. Let me stay with him, I don't care if you leave."
"Fine then."
I walked out of the hospital room and sat down on a bench. Busy nurses pushed wheelchairs and visitors waited for the elevators, everyone had something on their mind.
Tristan was on my mind, though. I wanted him to wake up and I know Tiffany did too. Brooke didn't know about what had happened yet but I doubted she would care.
I was in a place I didn't even know and my friend was in the hospital. Could things get any worse? I hoped not.
"Tristan woke up!" Tiffany exclaimed as she walked out of the hospital room.
I sprung up, "Really!?"
"No."
I sat back down and crossed my arms, "Don't joke like that, Tiffany!"
"I guess we both just have to hope that he has amnesia when he wakes up."
I looked at her with a disgusted yet confused face, "What's that supposed to mean?"
"If he has amnesia, I can make him believe that I'm still his girlfriend and maybe he'll be the Tristan we love again!"
"Are you crazy?" I began, "Yeah, you're crazy and you're sick. That's the Tristan you want, no one else in our friend group is that selfish."
"Then he's my medicine."
She slung her bag over her shoulder and swayed her hips as she walked.
How did Tristan put up with her? I would've knocked myself into a coma just so I didn't have to put up with her.
"Are you coming?" Tiffany yelled from a distance, "Or did you eat too much salt from your tears and you're bloated?"
"I wasn't crying!"
"You should be. Your friend is in the hospital and potentially dying, aren't you sad?"
"Of course I am. At least I'm not the one hoping that he wakes up with amnesia. I'm a good friend, unlike you. I want him to wake up and be okay."
"Nice speech. Let's go now," she swung her body around and walked forward. I followed her but I wanted to know what was running through Tiffany's mind.
