Stephanie's POV
At around 6:21 pm, Carlos texted me to meet him at some odd place, which he of course sent his driver to pick me up and drop me off.
His driver drove me to a really huge mansion. It looked very modern, had a pool at the front, was on a hill, and looked very expensive.
The location was around two hours away but my dad was sleeping, making it easier to sneak out.
When I arrived, Carlos was sitting on the sidewalk, "Happy New Year, Stephanie."
"It's still New Years Eve," I responded, "So not quite yet."
Carlos nodded his head at one of the security guards and smiled. They didn't ask us anything, the security guard just nodded back.
"Why'd they not question us?" I whispered, "Isn't this some fancy elite party thing?"
"My father said if I nodded and smiled at the entrance, they wouldn't question us," Carlos responded, "Usually for these kind of parties, they have some sort of code you do at the entrance whether it's verbal or a gesture."
The table we sat down at had a white table cloth and a bouquet of flowers in the middle.
"You see that man over there? Thats Mr. Davis. See the guy next to him? Thats his son, around the same age as us. I need you to go over there and distract him," Carlos asked me.
I got up and approached Mr. Davis's son, "Hello! My name is Stephanie."
He smiled and gave his drank to a butler, "My my! You look absolutely stunning in that red dress."
I was wearing a red slim dress with some lip gloss. My hair was down but in my purse, I carried a few scrunchies because this was a mission after all.
He was a few inches taller than me and he was wearing a black suit, "I'm Alejandro. Stephanie, are you alone tonight?"
I didn't know how to respond to that so I had to think quickly, "I could be alone with you, Alejandro."
I pretended to slip and bumped into a butler, "My dress! I'll head to the restroom to clean myself up."
After I got up, I looked at Carlos and went into a hallway. I got some tissues from a butler passing by and the stain came out really easily.
"Go straight," I could hear Carlos say through my ear piece, "When you can't go straight anymore, go right."
I followed his directions and found myself near a highly guarded room.
"You should expect to see security guards," Carlos stated, "The code is 4926. Ignore them and whatever you do don't seem intimidated. If they ask you anything, say mi ha mandato il signor Davis, non badare a me. I was sent by Mr. Davis, don't mind me."
I approached the door and started to put in the code. A security guard put his arm across the door and I restated what Carlos told me, "Mi ha mandato il signor Davis, non badare a me."
He put his arm down and I finished chipping in the code.
I snapped my fingers twice next to my ear piece, the signal that Carlos told me to do once I entered and three snaps for I'm in danger.
My heart was beating really fast but I scanned the room with my eyes and found the painting Carlos told me to look for.
It was a painting of a girl holding a bouquet of flowers. Wait, Elizabeth?
I took the painting off the wall and like Carlos said, there was a safe behind it.
I heard footsteps and turned around. Mr. Davis was walking towards me and my heart was beating even faster than it was before, I thought I was going to faint.
"Well, well, well. Look who we have here," Mr. Davis said.
"Oh spare me the cliche villain lines," I said, "This dance shouldn't last too long, Mr. Davis."
His gun was pointed directed at me and I hadn't been prepared for the moment that was happening then and there.
Where's Carlos, I thought, anxiously looking around.
Carlos said that he wouldn't leave me alone during the mission but, he was taking way too long, especially at such a pivotal moment.
"Fine, you win," I huffed, "I surrender!"
He laughed and put the gun down, "You teenagers are stupider than I thought."
"Your right," I said, "I'm just a stupid teenage dirtbag!"
I saw Carlos sneak in through the vents and figured I would mess with Mr. Davis for a little bit.
"Give me Mr. Estersons credit card and I'll consider putting the gun down," Mr. Davis exclaimed, grinning ear to ear.
I saw Carlos sneak in through the vents with a gun in his left hand.
Bang! Thud. Silence.
Mr. Davis's lifeless body laid on the the soft red carpeted flooring as I stepped over him.
"Thanks, Carlos! I knew you'd come in clutch!" I exclaimed.
I took his wallet and we walked out, "Sorry 'bout the wait, cariño," he commented.
"It's fine mon cheri, it was so much fun!" I exclaimed.
We heard footsteps behind us so and Carlos and I started to walk faster.
I swung my head around and saw Mr. Davis standing right behind us, "You rascals!"
Crack. Bang! Thud.
I thought I was dead but I could still hear commotion in the backround as it got quieter, quieter, then silent.
