Carlos's POV

I thought I could get closer to Stephanie by the whole punching bag thing. I'd play nice by giving her money to buy a whole new expensive punching bag after trying to gain enough of her trust to go to her house. Surprisingly, it worked.

Stephanie started to talking to me more, asking me about what classes I was taking and if we could hang out some time. Of course, all her ideas of hanging out were absurd. She wanted to steal her dads car or vandalize the school at night, which I obviously turned down.

The beginning of my plan worked but I thought I had a good enough relationship with her to invite her over to my place, my father wanted to speak with her and thats why I tried to get even closer to her. Don't get me wrong, I did admire her but for some odd reason, my father said she needed me and her for something...important.

So just like he asked, I invited her over for dinner. I told her we were having steak and all kinds of expensive food items.

"How could I turn down an offer like that?" She smiled, "When should I arrive?"

"I'll pick you up at eight," I said, "It's Friday and we've known each other for around a month, you trust me right?"

She nodded her head, "Yeah, you know where I live so be there on time."

Just like I said I would, I got my driver to pick her up at eight.

"Woah! You own a Rolls Royce!?" she exclaimed, "These are expensive!"

We put on our seatbelts and I could tell Stephanie was admiring the cars interior design.

When we arrived at my house, I walked her into the dining room, "Meet my parents."

"Hello, Mr and Mrs. Alonzo!" Stephanie said, "It's a pleasure to be here!"

I was shocked at how she was speaking, totally different from the Stephanie I knew.

We sat down next to each other and my father sat next to my mother in front of us.

"I've been observing how you act Ms. Monet," my father began, "Quite rebellious yet."

She had a sorry look on her face, "I apologize Mr. Alonzo."

"Don't apologize, I want you and my son to complete a mission together," he stated.

"Mission? What is this a spy show?" I laughed.

My father put a pistol on the table, "For the lady."

Stephanie looked confused, "What?"

"You'll need it if you're going to attend a party full of mafia members," my mother chipped in.

"Mafia? Guns? What?" Stephanie said, "You're saying I, Stephanie Monet, get to kill people?"

"Not just anyone, top members of elite status," my father said.

Stephanie was grinning ear to ear and I looked at my father dumbfounded, "What about school?"

"All of this will take place at night and you have winter break coming up so it should not be a problem," my father commented.

"Count me in!" Stephanie said, taking the pistol.

"Robert will teach you how to use a pistol, Stephanie. Carlos, your martial arts lessons and training will continue," my father said.

"You got bullied but you probably can kill anyone in your sight?" Stephanie joked.

My parents glared at me and thats when I realized I forgot to mention that anything I told Stephanie outside of my house, stays outside.

"Excuse me?!" my mother exclaimed, "Stephanie, what do you mean by that?"

Stephanie had a look of regret on her face and put the pistol back on the table, "Cookies! I smell cookies, haha."

My father gave me a "we are going to talk about this" look and dismissed us.

"Sorry about that," Stephanie said as I walked her to the car, "I forgot that you told them it was because of the lack of school activities."

I assured her that it was fine and that I'd find a way to deal with the situation. My driver opened the door for her and she waved through the window as he drove her home.

"Carlos!" my father yelled.

I approached him and explained that I told her I got bullied so that way she would feel sympathetic for me. In all honesty, if I told the truth, I just know my father would do something terrible to them and I didn't want that.

My father praised me, "Great idea! You most definitely are my son."

He hugged me and I smiled awkwardly, I was used to lying to my father but this time, I was sick of never telling him the truth.
