Stephanies POV
"Carlos, when are doing this mission thingy?" I asked as I leaned against the locker next to his.
He gave me his phone, "I need your number."
"Yeah but I asked you a question. Answer it," I said.
"I don't know okay Stephanie! I'll let you know as soon as my stupid dad tells me about it!" he yelled.
He was acting irritable and I honestly didn't want to be next to him. I walked away and looked back, he wasn't even trying to stop me so I guess his mind was on other things.
There was an excessive amount of snow outside but I had to walk home because of my dads job interview. Guess granny's money couldn't hold them for too long.
It was freezing and I didn't even have a jacket, just a cardigan. My parents said they'd buy me a winter jacket because of all the snow and the fact that it was -15 degrees Fahrenheit (-26 Celsius.)
I was shivering and Elizabeth had already gone home. I was going to ask stupid Carlos for a ride home but he was acting irritable and I didn't need that kind of energy in my life, though I do act that way a lot.
I fell to my knee's and was shivering immensely. My chest hurt and if I went back into the school, they'd call my parents to pick me up and it wasn't like they could answer.
Suddenly, someone put a jacket on my shoulders. He had pretty grey eyes with black wavy hair. He was Korean and extremely handsome, though I wasn't in love with him.
"You seem cold," he said, "Need a ride home?"
"I don't even know you, what if you try to kidnap me?" I suggested.
"If I do, you'll be warmer there than out here," he said.
"Okay fine," I said, "I train using a punching bag anyways! Well, I used to...my new one is still on its way."
He helped me up and I rushed into his car. It was nice and toasty in there, way better than outside.
"Warm up in here, I need to give Carlos something," he said, getting out of the car.
"Alright!" I exclaimed. Wait, Carlos?! He knew Carlos? But how? Maybe they were friends? But from where?
After about ten minutes, he came back and sat next to me. I told his mother my address and she started driving.
"How do you know Carlos?" I asked him.
"How do you know Carlos?" he asked.
"I asked first so you're going to answer first," I stated.
"Fine, he went to my old school. And you?" he asked.
"School friends. And why didn't you help him when he got bullied?" I asked.
He pursed his lips and looked out the window.
"Hello? Answer me!" I vociferated.
"Answer the lady," his mother said sternly.
I heard him take a deep breathe and he unclenched his fists, "I'm giving you a ride home snowball girl, that should be enough."
"Carlos is my friend! I care about him, don't you understand that?" I said.
"Pfft, I can't believe Carlos is friends with a poor girl. He probably pities you," he said, facing me.
He looked stunned at the words he was speaking and he covered his mouth. His mother gave him a disappointed look through the rear view mirror and I just stared at him.
This kid didn't know who he was talking to. I've done a lot of troublesome things, he didn't know who he was trying to pick a fight with.
I clenched my fists and tried to take a deep breathe.
"What?" he sneered, "Like the view? Gosh, you're such a pathetic little--."
He stopped himself before he could degrade me anymore. He leaned back into his seat and covered his face as if he regretted every word he had just said.
"Get out," he said. His mother parked outside of my house and I thanked her.
When I got to my front door, I kicked it out of anger and fell backwards. If Carlos had kicked it, the house would've gone down with the door.
My ankle felt numb and I tried to get up. I managed to grasp the doorknob and limped towards the kitchen for some ice to heal my swollen ankle.
