12. undercover?

A few weeks go by, a few coffee dates, and some very long calls with the girls about Aaron. There isn't a label on us, yet. he hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend, yet. which I completely understand, I mean I'm the first woman he's asked out scene Hailey.

“Hey love bug, Christmas is coming up, what do you want for Christmas?” I ask as I come into her room. She looks over at me and shrugs. “Legos, dolls and toys” she says and I nod. “Thank you, love bug.” I say before leaving. I decide to text Aaron

Do you have Jack's Christmas shopping done?

[A.H]
No, I haven't done it yet.

[I.D]
Do you want to come with me and we can shop together?

[A.H]
Sure, when do you want to?

[I.D]
Could we do it Sunday?

[A.H]
That works.

After the little text exchange, I decided that maybe I'll make another book, but about trauma and how it affects our brains. You know maybe a new book isn't what I need right now but I don't care. After getting the first couple chapters done and figuring out a title, I put away my laptop, so I can start dinner.

I pull out one of my Romanian recipe cards and start to make a traditional Romanian dish. After about 30 minutes it's done and I call Astrid out so we can eat. “So every year David, who I work with, throws a Christmas party at his house, and we all bring gifts and little things for each other, and it's happening on the 23rd, I want you to come with me” I say and she kinda pauses, thinking about it. “Is Jack and Aaron going to be there?” she asks and I nod, “then yeah I'll go with you” she says and I smile. “Also aunt Emily is going to watch you and jack tomorrow so me and Aaron can go do something” I say and she nods.

After dinner I cleaned up and we decided to have a family movie night. We decided to watch brave. Halfway through the movie I get a call. “We have a case,” JJ says before hanging up. I text Jessica, who has been taking both Jack and Astrid while me and Aaron have cases, and don't worry I make sure to give her gift cards and stuff to repay her for her kindness. Anyways I grab my go bag and Astrids and drop her off at Jessica's.

I make it to the office, and head to the meeting room, like I normally would for a case. “Alright gang we are headed to Florida, as we have four women who have been murdered” Penelope says. And I open my case file, nothing strikes me as odd, the cause of death is, one gunshot wound to the head. “They are college kids, are they on Christmas break?” Reid asks and I look over at him. “Boy wonder, they are all on Christmas break” Penelope answers and he nods. “Alright, wheels up in 30” Aaron says and we all nod. Emily grabs my arm so we can walk out together. “So has Aaron asked you to his girlfriend yet?” She says a little too loud, and I cover her mouth. “Emily Prentiss be quiet, I don't need everyone knowing that I'm going out with our boss” I whisper-yell. And she giggles, I roll my eyes and uncover her mouth. “But no he hasn't, but we were going to go Christmas shopping for the kids tomorrow but I guess not” I say and she nods. “Actually that reminds me, what does the little gremlin want for Christmas?” Emily asks, just as we make it back to my desk. “she's in love with star wars, and Barbie, but also any Disney movie” I say and she nods. “Can I get her a magic set?” Reid pipes up and asks, and I smile. “Boy wonder, you can get her whatever you want, you are her favorite either way” I say and Emily shoves me. “I'm her favorite” she says and I laugh. “Actually you might have to fight Aaron for that spot, sorry em” I say with a small giggle. “Reid is her favorite uncle, and you are her favorite aunt,” I say. “Actually I'll take that,” she says and I laugh. “Anyways let's get going” I say.

We make it to the jet and I take the aisle seat as Aaron. I decided to sit next to Aaron. Emily and JJ sit in front of us. “So Emily, what were you planning on doing tomorrow before we got this case?” I ask. “I was going to call you and ask what the gremlin wanted for Christmas, then probably finish watching suits” she says and I nod. “Actually that reminded me, what does Jack want for Christmas?” I ask and Aaron looks up from the case file he's going over. “Star wars, cars and army men” he says and both me and Emily nod.
