26. wedding

A few weeks go by and I get a phone call from Reid. “Hey I was wondering if you'd get coffee with me today around 12?” He asks. “Of course, our usual coffee shop?” I ask. “Mhm, I'll see you there” he says. “See you there” I say before hanging up. I walk out to the living room, to find Aaron. “Spencer just called me, he wants to get coffee with me at 12, so I'm going to go get ready” I say. He nods.

I get dressed and ready to go. When I get to the coffee shop I see Reid at one of the tables, he already ordered me coffee. I sat down across from him. “What's up boy wonder?” I ask. “...I need to ask you something,” he says and I nod. “I proposed to meave, and she said yes, and I wanted to know if you'd be my best woman” he says and a giant grin breaks out on my face. “Wow I'd love you, but you're sure you don't want Morgan to be your best man?” I ask and he shakes his head. “For the 7 years I've known you, you have helped me more than you know, I want you to be my best woman, and hotch, Rossi and Morgan to be my groomsmen, Maeve wants JJ Emily to be her bridesmaids and Penelope as her maid of honor.” He says. “Spencer, if you really want me to be your best woman, I'd love to” I say and he smiles. “Good, now how about having Jack and Astrid as ring bearer and flower girl” he says. “I'm going to assume they'd all love that, you should really have Rossi host a dinner and tell everyone” I say. “I didn't think about that, I'm going to do that” he says and I laugh a little bit. “I will call him now,” he says, pulling out his phone. “Hi Rossi, will you host a dinner at your house? I have news that I need everyone for” Reid asks. After a few seconds Reid smiles. “Thank you, I'll see you tonight” he says before hanging up. “Tonight at 7” Reid says and I nod. “Then I'm gonna go and tell them, so I'll see you tonight” I say and he nods.

When I get home, Astrid and Jack meet me at the door. “Hey kiddos,” I say. I see Aaron get up and walk over. “Hey, Rossi is having a mandatory dinner at his house tonight at 7” I say and he nods. We get the kids ready, and head over around 6:30 only a little bit of a dive to Rossi's. “Papa!” Astrid says running up to him. He hugs her and Jack. “Hi David,” Aaron says. “Hi,” he says. Astrid and Jack run off. The team and partners are here.

When it's time for dinner. Spencer stands up. “I have a toast, and an announcement.” He says. “Two days ago, I proposed to Maeve” he says and the team gives some “woos” and claps. “And with that, we want to say that, everyone is at the wedding, Bella and Penelope holding our sides. Bella will be my best woman, as that's not very traditional, but it's our wedding and Penelope being maeve's maid of honor” “and Astrid and Jack, we want you to be our ring bearer and flower girl” he says looking at them, they don't even think about it before saying yes and I chuckle a little bit at how eager they are.

Dinner goes well, lots of talk of the wedding, we all thought Morgan or Penelope would get married before Reid, but we were wrong. It's funny because Morgan was kinda hurt that he wasn't the best man, but Reid had a talk with him and his view changed.  Penelope is crazy happy to be maid of honor. Both Savannah and Luke are included in the wedding. I'm actually really excited about this, after everything Spencer has gone through he deserves to be happy.

Almost an entire year goes by and the day of the wedding is here. I'm rushing back and forth to get me, Astrid, Aaron, and Jack ready. Aaron just needed a little help with his hair compared to the other two. Spencer is very nervous. I watch as Savannah and Morgan walk down, then Emily and Rossi, then JJ and Luke, then Aaron walks down by himself as there's an uneven number, and before me and Penelope are about to walk out I turn around to face Spencer. “Spencer, you love her so much, this is an amazing day, and if anything goes wrong I will do everything to make sure it doesn't go wrong” I say and he smiles. Me and Penelope hook arms and start down the aisle together. I make eye contact with Aaron and smile. We part when we get to the altar and I stand next to Aaron. I see Spencer start down the aisle, I smile encouragingly to him, and when he makes it to the altar I whisper. “We love you Spencer, remember that” he smiles a little bit, then I see Astrid start throwing the flower petals as she walks down. Then I see meave walking down with her father. Her dress is beautiful, she looks amazing. I see Spencer start to tear up and a soft smile breaks out on my face. This is beautiful, this marriage is beautiful, the dresses, the suits, the venue, the theme. If I ever get married I want something like this.

She parts away with her father as she gets to the altar and Spencer takes her hands in his. They both are teary and smiling. The officiant starts, and Jack comes down with the rings, after the vows and exchange of rings, they kiss, something we didn't know Spencer had in him, but we all clap and cheer, and they break down the aisle, and so on.
We took pictures after words, as they wanted a first look to be when she was walking down the aisle. It was at sunset so the sky was a beautiful pink and purple combo.

At the reception, we were all talking and parting, then it came to the bouquet toss. Instead of throwing it, meave pretended to before handing it to me. I look at her confused before I see Aaron walk out. He drops to one knee and I bring a hand over my mouth, knowing what's about to happen. “As I've gotten permission form one David Rossi, and Spencer and maeve, will you Isabella rose drâgos marry me?” he says and I nod immediately. “Yes” I say and he stands up and slips the ring on my finger. I hear some cheers and claps as I give him a kiss. “Spencer, how long has this been a secret?” I ask as I break off from the girls. “7 months” he says and my mouth drops. “Spencer Walter Reid, you kept that from me for 7 months” I say and he laughs. “I'm sorry, but hotch made me promise not to say anything” he says and I shake my head.  I see David and I go over to him. “David” I say and he smiles. “Bella, my favorite not daughter but daughter” he says and I laugh a little bit. “sence you have claimed me as your daughter, will you walk me down the aisle?” I ask and he smiles softly. “I would be honored to” he says

Penelope pulls all of the girls to the dance floor. “This is for meave and our newly engaged girly bella” she says and we laugh. We dance, we drink, we laugh, and at the end of the night we have to clean up, and that's definitely the worst part. But in the end, both me, Aaron, Spencer, and meave, get to end the day happier then we started
