Author's POV :-

The grand bedroom, adorned with its regal shades and breathtaking décor, felt nothing less than a palace-one that should have belonged to someone else.

Niharika ran her fingers over the silk sheets, feeling the cool, expensive fabric beneath her touch. The faint fragrance of roses lingered in the air, clashing with the unease that coiled in her chest. This was her husband's room. Her husband. The words felt foreign, unreal. And yet, here she stood, an intruder in a space that wasn't meant for her.

Anushka had left with a reassuring smile, but Niharika couldn't shake the loneliness creeping in as the walls closed around her. She moved hesitantly, taking in every detail-the perfectly arranged books on the shelf, the unyielding symmetry of the room, the absence of any personal touch that spoke of warmth. It was a place of control, precision, and discipline. Everything about it screamed Maanveer Rajvanshi.

Needing a change from her suffocating bridal lehenga, she searched the closet, hoping for something more comfortable. But as soon as she slid the door open, her heart clenched. The suitcase. Priya's.

The reminder hit her like a blow.

Swallowing the tightness in her throat, she rummaged through the clothes, finding dresses that were clearly Priya's style-bold, modern, nothing that fit her own taste. She picked a pink maxi nightwear, not her style, but comfort was all that mattered now.

The bathroom, just like the bedroom, was stunning-marbled perfection with a golden glow that should have been calming, but only made her feel more out of place. It took nearly an hour to peel off the weight of the wedding, both literally and figuratively. The heavy jewellery, the layers of makeup, the intricately draped lehenga-she shed it all like a second skin, leaving behind the burden she had carried all day.

When she stepped out, her body felt lighter, but her heart did not.

Just as she moved toward the balcony for some fresh air, the door flung open with a thunderous bang.

Niharika flinched.

Maanveer stood at the threshold, his eyes burning with rage, his presence dark and overbearing. The moment their eyes met, her breath hitched. The storm brewing in his gaze sent chills down her spine.

"What do you think you're doing here?" His voice was ice, laced with something sharper-disgust.

Niharika stiffened, her fingers curling against her nightwear.
