The last five days had passed in silence—heavy, suffocating silence.
Since that night, since I yelled at her, I hadn't gone home properly. If I did, it was only in the dead of night, around 1 AM, when I was sure she’d be asleep.
We hadn't spoken. Neither of us tried.
She had moved to the balcony to sleep, and when we did cross paths, we both turned away as if the other didn't exist.
Maybe it was better this way.
Because I don't have guts to trust anyone. Not her, Not Priya not anyone. That's why I hired a detector, he will give me all information regarding her whereabout.
I don't want to invate her privacy, and make her feel like a prisoner, but still I don't have any option. I wants to know if whatever Priya said was Truth or not.
If Yes! Then I'll not wait for a whole damn year to end this marriage.
And if NO! Well, I can atleast think about cancelling that Divorce contract, and give this relationship a good chance, but only if she wants.
The detector, will report me, after my return from USA. Until then, I am not going to do anything.
Tomorrow, Shaurya and I were leaving for the U.S. Dad had suggested I take her along, but I refused outright. I needed distance—space to breathe, space to think, space away from her. If she came with me, my focus would waver, and I couldn’t afford that.
So, after wrapping up my final meetings, I delegated all responsibilities to Vivaan. As the COO, he was more than capable of handling things in my absence.
For a moment, I even considered stepping down as CEO, handing the position to him. He worked hard—harder than anyone. But when I brought up the idea, Dad and Chachu shut it down immediately.
"Not yet," they said. "You need to stay in this position for a few more years. After Vivaan's marriage, maybe. But not now."
Chachi had mentioned it once or twice, but Vivaan himself never seemed in a hurry. Neither did the others.
So for now, things remained as they were.
Just as I was about to shut my laptop, the door swung open without a single knock. Only one person had the audacity to barge into my office like that.
Shaurya.
“Man, are you ready for tomorrow?” he grinned, dropping into the chair opposite me like he owned the place. “I swear, this project is gonna take our company to another level.”
I nodded, leaning back. “Yeah. We’ve been working for this for years. Now, it's time.”
Shaurya smirked. “And while we’re at it, I might just find myself a girlfriend there.”
