Hello

So guys I'm so damn excited because I've finally finished writing 'finding love' - literally a whole book (bruh, it's taken me TEN MONTHS to write that shit and it's not even that long lol)

Man, Idonbilivit. It's a nice feeling.

As a result, in celebration, I thought I'd list down the struggles I experienced while writing it and hopefully those of you who have written your own books can relate.

Lego!

1. Forgetting those little details from chapter one

So like because I started writing it ages ago, when doing the later chapters, the time came where I had to flip back to check the fucking colour of my protagonist's hair or eyes or some bullshit like that and it's damn annoying when you forget those little things because you can't like make it up on the spot, people will recognize that the minute you make a mistake

Like lol I read a book where the protagonist's surname changed five damn times in the span of thirty chapters

It was so bloody confusing I mean first you read of this Violet Bunningham then this Violet Bunnington and then this violet Bunninghamton lol

2. Having to read everything again

So at first you've written chapters one and two, and because it's a pretty new book, you're excited - so you read those two chapters several times and you're like yea, I like it, I like it.

But then two chapters become three, then four, then ten, then eighteen and you're just like ain't nobody got time for dat

Like I won't lie, I need to read the whole thing now to see if it actually flows but I'm too fucking lazy to do that shit, I'd rather catch up on Royal Pains or start watching Pretty Little Liars (do you recommend it?) or something

3. Losing motivation

This is legit the most annoying thing in the world because your brain goes through so many emotions with regards to the book:

Brain: I like it but wait this should happen but wait maybe we should change it ugh I'm too lazy where is chicken ffs now I hate the story now I can't fucking write this anymore maybe I should just delete it no one likes it omg but shit man I need to finish this shit

I think without punctuation. What bitch.

Anywho, it's just annoying as fuck because it's like you're standing on a ladder in the desert with binoculars on your eyes attempting to search for some motivation to continue

4. Wondering if you're moving too fast

I don't know if it's just me but often, when I read other books, events seem to happen either too quickly or too slowly, so it's an obvious worry when you're actually the one writing. Like, you wonder if you should slow down - but the thing is, you want the book to fucking end so you speed up shit or you just fill it with redundant descriptions so like yea

Just me?

5. Trying to read the readers' minds

TELL ME WHAT YOU'RE THINKING

TELL ME PLSSSS, I WANT TO KNOWWWW

DON'T JUST COMMENT A SMILEY FACE! What does that even mean omfg is it like a close-mouthed smile meaning "it's okay" or is it you trying to be nice but you hate it or is it a genuine "this made me smile" comment like GAAAHHHH WE ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP HERE MAN WE NEED TO COMMUNICATE

No doubt, as critical as I am of other people's falling out in their books, I completely understand why it is so fucking difficult to always get it right. Like legit, props to all of you who are writing your own books. I respect you.

Imagine I'm going on a four day fucking camping trip and I don't know how I'll deal with the no toilets/no electricity/no showers/no meat life like fml guys
