Madeline's POV

   "Maddie wake up," Calum whispered while shaking me.

   I looked over at the clock that was on the night stand.

4:23 am

  "Why are we up this early" I whined.

   "You need to leave. I'm doing this for your own safety. Go to this address, take one of my cars," Calum rushed handing me a piece of paper and keys.

   "Wait what?" I used my elbows to prop me up.

   "I'll explain later but I need you to leave now! Grab your things!" He said pacing back and forth.

   I grabbed my suitcase, throwing random clothes in there. I was still very confused as to what was going on. 

  "How long will this last?" I asked, pausing for a moment.

   "I don't know, it could be a month, two months, even three, I don't know."

   "But Calum I don't want to leave you." I said starting to feel anxious.

  "It's for your safet-" A loud noise cut him off.

   "Go! Now!" Calum pushed me towards the front door and I felt a warm tear surprise my face.

   I was getting forced to leave him.

   I just listened to Calum and hopped in his car.

   I pulled out of the driveway with a loud sigh following it.

   I looked down at the piece of paper with the address on it.

   That's more than an hour away.

    I drove in silence, my eyes focusing on the road.

   Until I arrived at this place, I had no idea where I was.

   It was a random house out in the country, flowers planted around it.

   I knocked on the door and bit on my finger nails.

   Yeah people say that's gross, but it's a habit.

   I heard footsteps coming towards the door and I was greeted with a guy.

   He kind of looked like Calum in a way.

   "Hi Maddie! Let's get you inside," he said, rushing me in.

   "What's even going on?" I said.

   "I'm Kai, Calum's cousin," He smiled.

   "Why am I here?"

   He lead me to this room in the back with couches.

   There was a girl with brown eyes, she had a mixture of blonde and brown hair.

   She was for sure taller than me, considering I was actually really small.

   Kai sat down on the couch across from her.

   I felt awkward just standing here, it was an awkward silence for a while.

   Kai coughed, breaking up the silence.

    He finally spoke up.

   "So you want to know what's going on?"

   "Yes! I was forced away from Calum and I don't know why I'm her- I got cut off by an annoyed Kai.

   "Calum is in this gang, they are the biggest and most dangerous gang around.  They have committed murder and lots of other things you wouldn't want to know.  I know this is news to you, but Calum really cares about you and wants you to be safe. 

    He is basically the leader of that gang, people fear them.  There's this other group, their enemies.  They know Calum is the leader and wants to absolutely ruin him.  They are after you basically, and we are here to keep you safe," Kai said, giving me a weak smile.

   I was in shock with everything, this is just too much for me to take in all at once.

    I was more worried for Calum then I was for myself.

   "Mali why don't you show her where she will be sleeping," he smiled.

   Oh I guess that's her name.

   "I feel like I'm forced to stay here," I sighed.

   "Calum wants you here, we're his relatives," Kai replied.

   "Yeah and he also wants to murder people," I said with a sarcastic tone.

    "Hey Maddie, it's not exactly like that."

   He might say it's not like that, but it IS like that. I don't even know who to trust anymore.

   What if these people are here to kidnap me.

   Don't judge my random thoughts, you never know.

   Mali lead me to a room at the end of the hall.

   More like the house at the end of the street.

   Watch me get possessed here too!

   "Here's the guest room, make yourself at home. I'm Calum's sister by the way," she smiled.

   I ran to the bed and flopped on it.

  I ended up falling deeper and deeper until the dark side took over.
