Madeline's POV

I woke up in a grey plain room, there was little to no color exposed to the human eye in this so called depressing room.

"You don't deserve to be in here, darling," a deep voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

I looked over and locked eyes with Calum, his eyes seemed to have been a lighter shade of brown than usual.

"You aren't insane, I know that for a fact. No matter what they say,  just remember what I just said."

His eyes soften when he looks at me, it's almost like he knows that I'm suffering, that he knows something I don't.

"C-calum stop lying to me" I stutter, interrupted by the old, worn out door squeaking as the door nob turned slowly.

"Hello Madeline" The doctor smiled and I cringed, Calum tapped my arm lightly to stop me from saying anything ignorant back.

"We're going to have to talk to you in private Mrs. McCarthy," he said and my heart started to race. Calum squeezed my hand signaling that I would be alright.

Calum left the room and the doctor locked the door.

There were no windows in this room which is what I thought was weird.

"Some policemen are here to talk to you Madeline. I'll let them in," he gave me a weak smile as he quietly opened the door.

Two tall men entered the room with stern facial expressions.

"Are you Madeline McCarthy?" The one with blond fluffy hair said.

"Yes?" I said, my hands started to get sweaty.

"All evidence points to you, Ms. McCarthy for being responsible for eighteen year-old Destiny's death."
