Diego rubbed his hands together before looking at his watch. He looked over the different groups of kids coming from the school. His heart beat sped up as his eyes met with Dallas. A smile formed on his son's face. On the inside Diego scoffed. But on the outside he gave his son a smile. What was he going to do with a kid?

At the moment Diego despised Monica for keeping him away from Dallas. But then there was the small voice in the back of head. Telling him he only wanted to get close to the kid for Monica. That he would ruin him. He was probably better off leaving him with Monica.

"Landyn." Dallas yelled out. Diego's demeanor changed as he looked to the left. Landyn had a smirk on his face as he walked toward Dallas. He moved across the street to reach his son at the same time.

"What's up kid?" Landyn held his hand out. Diego sat and watched them do a handshake, saluting each other with the first letter of their names. It crushed him on the inside that the same nigga Monica left him for was around his son.

"I'm going with dad today. Did you forget?"

"Naw. You know I forget anything with you kid." Landyn smiled. He looked to Diego. "I want to rap to you. Since I don't got your number I figured we could do that now before you take him."

Diego's jaw clenched as he looked him over. The two men looked nothing alike. They carried themselves completely different as well. Diego hated to admit that Landyn was more solid than he was. That if there was any other nigga asking to speak with him man to man he would spit in his face. "Whatever."

Landyn looked him over and snickered. "Come on kid. Let's get you in your dad's car." Dallas didn't hesitate to hold Landyn's open hand. They walked over to his car. Diego opened the back door. Landyn placed him inside. They did their handshake again and Diego closed the door as soon as he was out.

"Monica told you to come and do all that?"

"You know better than that. I don't move cause nobody told me to do shit. As a man, I'm the nigga who's around your son consistently. You and Monica can't seem to work out nothing. And you know I heard what you said to her."

Diego folded his arms. "So you cool with me getting him?"

"You his dad." Landyn shrugged. "Do I like it? No. I was the first one to tell her to get a restraining order on you after the shit you did with Dre and Tyson. But she didn't listen. So ain't nothing I can do about the situation at the moment. But when you think about crossing the line, or disrespecting her ever again we going have an issue."

Diego laughed. "Yeah I hear you Boss."

Landyn looked him over. "Both of yall got some growing up to do. Dallas is a good kid. He deserves to have good parents too. Yall both need to realize that before he can't stand either of you. If you ain't coming around to learn about who you created, leave him alone. Let him continue with the life he had."

"But if you are here to be a father. I respect that. No matter what the circumstances around it is. We had an issue as kids. That shit is nonexistent now. I plan on marrying his mom, so he always going to be straight. As a man, as his step father I need to know that's the same mindset you got for him to."

"Nigga that's my seed."

"Don't matter." Landyn shrugged. "He don't know you as that yet. He call you dad but his smile don't reach his eyes when he see you. Dali is a kid. He's curious to know who you are and what you about."

Diego glanced back at him and then to Landyn. "Truthfully sometimes I feel like he's better without me. Then you pop up here and I'm jealous you got this bond with my seed. Some of that shit from when we was kids play a part in that. But I'm probably just as curious as he is about me."
