"Mommmyyyyyyyy." Dallas yelled as he pushed through kids to get to her. Monica couldn't help herself as she passed her purse to Landyn. He snickered as he watched the two of them hug each other. Monica moved back and looked him over. "I'm okay mom."
"I know but I missed your little face." She teased squeezing his cheeks. Dallas didn't even complain as he leaned into the action. Monica smiled. "How was your weekend baby?" She asked as she rose to her feet. Dallas hand slid into hers.
"It was fun. Next weekend dad is going to buy me clothes so I don't need a bag. But I will take my toothbrush. That's for home. He understands but he didn't like it."
"This is a change we all have to get used to. I'm sure he'll get over that." Monica smiled at him. "Landyn has something for you when we get home." Dallas smiled.
"What is it?"
"She's not telling you." Landyn spoke making Dallas look at him. His smile disappeared as he looked at his mom again.
"Mom did you lose your job? Landyn usually picks me up on Mondays."
Monica pouted. "I thought you missed your mommy."
"I did. But if you lose your job then what happens?"
"She didn't lose her job dude." Landyn laughed. "She wanted to see you. Your mom is adjusting to the change as well. Monday's she'll come pick you up. I tagged along since I didn't have work today."
"Oh." Dallas looked between the two of them. "I like when Landyn picks me up mom. We talk about man stuff." He explained. "But I will let you do it because I be with dad and you don't get to see me. One day maybe you can come to dad's."
"That's not going to happen." Monica shook her head. "We can do something together. But mom has no plans of going to your dad's home."
"Okay." Dallas shrugged. "But Landyn has to pick me up Tuesday. Once we get home he has to get ready for your date."
Monica and Landyn both laughed. "Fine. Mom won't cut into your man time every day. Just Monday's." She sighed. Dallas did his handshake with Landyn before passing him his book bag. Monica opened the back door for him while Landyn stood behind her.
"Can I know what you got now?"
"Nope." Landyn closed the door. Monica laughed as she looked back at him. "Come on get in." He told her. They walked around the car. Monica noticed Landyn looking at something and looked in that direction. She frowned as she noticed Diego's car.
"Why is he here?"
"I don't know. Nor do I care." Landyn looked down at her. "Get in." She slid into the passenger seat once he opened the door for her. Landyn closed the door and then moved to the trunk putting Dallas book bag in side. Monica looked out of the side mirror noticing Diego pulling beside Landyn.
Diego said something and she wanted to roll the window down. At the same time she didn't want Dallas to overhear whatever he was saying. The look on his face made Monica's hairs stand on the back of her neck. Landyn slammed the trunk shut before moving closer to his car. Diego held something up and Landyn took it.
Diego looked toward her and smirked. She mugged him as he pulled off. When Landyn got into the car she looked over to him. He didn't say anything as he started the car. "So what do you think the surprise is Dali?" She asked distracting her mind. Landyn looked over to her. She smiled and whatever tension was in him slowly retreated.
"A baby."
Landyn and Monica's head whipped in his direction. "No." They both spoke.
Dallas laughed. "You look scared. A baby is a blessing. Grammy always says that. She wants you to have another baby."
