Chapter 16 - Love finds you everywhere 🔞 (first time)

Boun was on the verge of despair, the GPS had shown 300 m distance, but the signal was gone, how could that be?

He repeatedly shook his cell phone violently. He realized that this made no sense, but at least he had the feeling that he was doing something.

"Inspector, the signal's gone. But he must be somewhere within 300 meters of here." Shouted Boun desperately.

"Relax, that can only mean he's somewhere inside where a signal could be blocked. Jam stop, we'll get out...300m radius we can explore on foot more inconspicuously. He can hear cars. We'll wait here now, call a few more men and then we'll comb this area."

"Can't we search now, who knows what the bastard will do to him until we find him." Boun was completely desperate, he could see the worst-case scenarios before him.

"Stay calm. All his hatred was directed at you, not Prem. He didn't beat him down either, he stunned him gently, he'll treat him well because he wants him to love him too."

"BUT HE DOESN'T!" Boun shouted, full of anger and deep sadness at the same time. He simply couldn't sit here calmly.

Thank goodness the requested reinforcements arrived quietly within 10 minutes. There were two more police cars.

In the meantime, 8 police officers plus Boun were looking for Prem. They split up in different directions and searched within a 300m radius.

Finally, the inspector had an idea.

"What can block radio waves? Not just any metal.... all these corrugated iron containers and plaster side walls of the old factories here are so dilapidated and full of holes, surely nothing can block them. It must be a much more fortified building. Jam please google it. We need buildings with reinforced concrete or lead reinforcement in the concrete within a radius of 300 meters. That's only the case with the very old buildings here on the site. Nobody uses lead anymore."

Jam hung on to his tray. He already had three to choose from. That was all there was around here.

An old shoe factory, an old workshop and a rather run-down building in danger of collapsing, half of whose roof was already missing. The latter could be ruled out.

In the end, the inspector decided to go to the workshop with Boun, Jam and two other officers, while the other four were sent to the shoe factory.

It didn't take long for the quintet to spot the van from a distance; it was parked between two old buildings under a corrugated iron roof and couldn't be seen from the side or above. It was only 50 meters away from the workshop.

The inspector immediately ordered his men back to him. He was sure they could only be in this building.

The GPS actually reported back the closer Boun got to the hall. Prem was clearly in there and wasn't moving. He had to be somewhere where the waves were no longer 100% blocked, perhaps with a large hole in the wall or something similar.

The inspector conferred with his men, they were going to try to get into the building from different sides. Jam walked around the outside of the building unnoticed and was then able to inform them about the fire escape etc.

The inspector posted a man in front of every possible escape route.

"Boun you wait here. I don't want to see you anywhere near there, let alone inside! You got it?!" The inspector ordered with a truly terrifying voice and a clear look.
