The next morning, Prem's alarm clock would have rung at 8 o'clock.
He looked at it after waking up at 6.30 and quickly turned it off so as not to wake Boun.He slipped out from under the warm body of his boyfriend, who was half on top of him with one arm and one leg, and draped his pillow so that there was at least a little illusion of a body to snuggle up to while he slept.
It didn't work quite as well as he had hoped, because Boun suddenly made a skeptical face half asleep with his eyes closed. Only a small, tender kiss on his cheek finally made him accept the pillow Prem with a satisfied smile, while the real Prem stole out of the room, extremely amused. He had wanted to get up so early to prepare breakfast and take his time choosing an outfit, because he was incredibly nervous about meeting Boun's parents. Actually, it was nonsense. They already knew each other in private, rarely saw each other, but Boun had long since introduced him as a work colleague and new best friend, two years ago.
Prem knew Boun's mother loved him. She even insisted he should call her "Ma or Mom" and was one of his most active followers, praising him on almost every post he made on social media.
But suddenly appearing as her son's boyfriend seemed like something completely different and worried him a little. He wanted, no, he simply HAD to make the best impression.
Boun's father was a little more complicated. He liked Prem too, definitely, but he had the feeling that this man saw his BL's active acting career more as a kind of joke. Something amusing that worked well for his son and made him famous, but he certainly couldn't be serious about and wouldn't last for much longer.
He was just a typical, older Thai man, not as homophobic as many others his age, because he could at least accept it as a given that such people existed without judging them, yet it seemed impossible for him that his son could actually be "one of those".
Prem was really afraid that he and Boun would meet with rejection. Well, a great outfit certainly wouldn't change that, but at least he felt a little more confident.
So he went to take a shower at lightning speed, prepared a rice porridge that was just cooling down and came back to the bedroom with just a towel around his hips to choose something nice to wear.
He didn't even need to turn on the light, because the blackout curtain had somehow not been placed properly in front of the balcony door last night and the room was relatively bright. He also had the luxury of a closet light that could be switched on.
Prem crept quietly to the cupboard, switched on the light inside and glanced behind him briefly to make sure he didn't wake his boyfriend.
Boun still seemed to be asleep, but was moving more and more every minute and was now lying very strangely in bed. He had pushed the Prem replacement pillow away from him and, lying on his stomach, kept fumbling with one hand to the other side of the bed, where he couldn't seem to find what he was looking for. He then dived under the blankets and pillows in an apparent search for his bedmate, as if he wanted to lift his "treasure" from the depths of the sleeping landscape like an adventurer, until he woke up from his unsuccessful attempts to dig for gold.
"Pao... my angel, what are you doing? Come back to bed....(yawn)....it's far too early." A soft, sleepy voice with a somewhat querulous undertone sounded from the pile of blankets, a human and pillows.
"Go back to sleep Hia. I was just taking a shower and preparing breakfast. I still want to pick out the perfect outfit, it'll take time."
