Boun didn't really want to let go of Prem, but he had to take a look at the phone. It was his grandmother.
"Shia, my angel, I have to answer it." Boun mumbled a little. He really loved his grandmother and when she called, it was important, but right now he would have liked to cuddle Prem even more.Prem just nodded to Boun, turned around and rested his head on Boun's thigh while he took the call.
Boun tenderly stroked Prem's head while he talked to his grandmother and felt under his fingers how much his boyfriend enjoyed this treatment. He almost seemed to hum, like a huge, sleek cat.Suddenly Prem felt Boun stop sharing this wonderful scratching pampering with him. He simply let his hand rest. Prem pressed towards Boun and circled his head a little to signal that he should continue, but there was no reaction. Instead, he noticed that Boun wasn't saying anything at all and quietly scrunched up his nose a little. Prem sat up a little more and looked irritatedly into the face of his boyfriend, who was now looking at him with a glistening tear in the corner of his eye and a surprised, touched look until he had regained his speech.
"But Yai, no, that's far too much. What about you, surely you can use it too?"
Silence reigned again.
"But I....we....ahem....Yes....." Boun stammered and paused his sentence. His grandmother seemed to interrupt him.
There was another moment of silence. Now a big tear did flow from the corner of Boun's eye. He fixed Prem's gaze, raised his hand and stroked his cheek gently before continuing.
"Yes....I do intend to....You're right.....and.....Yes.......more than anything in the world....that's exactly what he deserves.....its ok....I salute him....Thank you.....we love you Yai...see you tomorrow."
Boun hung up."Hia, what's wrong, why are you crying, what did your grandmother say....and.... um....who deserves what? See you tomorrow?"
Prem looked at Boun, a little perplexed. He stretched out his arm, gently wiped away Boun's tear with his thumb and let his hand rest lovingly and reassuringly on the back of his neck to make it clear that he could tell him anything.
Just two seconds later, two strong arms reached for Prem and pressed him firmly against Boun's chest.
They both sank into an intimate embrace, still stark naked and still marked by the little mess on the sheet, but they didn't care.
"My grandmother has something for us my angel, it's papers. She wants you to sign them too, both...uhm...one from the notary, one from a bank." Boun explained.
"ME? But why, what are these papers?" Prem asked, visibly astonished. He could have guessed that one was about the house, but it was for Boun and not for Prem and what banking transactions could he have made with Boun? Questions upon questions.
"Pao....She insists on signing the house over to both of us. She knows we want to move in together, she wants us to own it equally..... and she told me something I didn't know about myself.... years ago she had set up an account into which she had repeatedly paid money since the inheritance disputes, including some from securities funds that she inherited after my grandfather's death, etc. She had originally set it up because she wanted to keep it safe, she hoped she might be able to buy back her family's house at some point, because she was sure her brother would sell it, but she didn't want to buy it from him.
She hasn't touched the account for years and wants the money to be used for the house now. She wants US to have the account and has also had it transferred to both of us, we just have to sign it. She also suggested that we pay the money that we have budgeted for the renovation ourselves or the money from the sale of my apartment so that we have equal access."
