"How could you do that to yourself? To us?" My dad says, looking at me with such disdain on his face I think he might drop dead any moment

"How could you do that to yourself? To us?" My dad says, looking at me with such disdain on his face I think he might drop dead any moment.

"To YOU?" I scream. "As if you've been here day in and day out raising me. As if you've cared enough to be the person to call yourself my father. You have ignored me my entire life! I'm not perfect, I'm so sorry! I'm sorry that I got pregnant and I'm sorry you have a six year old grandson you even haven't bothered to know. And I'm so so sorry that I fucked an FBI profiler! Is that what you want to hear for an apology?"

Spencer holds me at my shoulders, his thumbs rubbing soothing circles into me as I cry. He's trying to keep me calm but it's not working. "We should go before the police arrive or they decide to call them themselves." I tell him, keeping my back to him before picking August up into my arms.

Spencer follows after me and when I look back at him over my shoulder, I watch as he uses his t-shirt to try and clean up the bloody mess of his face and hands and it's probably so he can see his son without scaring him as much.

We get in my car, Spencer staying with Auggie in the backseat while I drive. I was too worried to let him drive on the chance that his injuries to his face would affect him. I kept Disney music on all the way to JJ's where Spencer read to August until he fell asleep, taking pictures of his bruising arm just in case.

I recount all of he events that lead up to the fight, and to the confession. Very few words are spoken between Spencer and I but every so often he clears his throat to grab my attention and I'd peer back at him through the rear view mirror.

"Are you okay?" He asks each time, nodding my head to try and reassure him but each time I did so, he doesn't buy it. But before he can even respond, I'd flip the question on him and he'd go silent.

When I finally pull up the house, it's getting closer to nine in the evening. Spencer gently unstraps Auggie from his car seat, holding him to his chest before carrying him up the stairs. I go to knock on her door but before I can do so, it opens.

"Come in." She says, stepping aside so we can squeeze past.

I whisper 'I know' back as JJ pulls Spencer in for a hug. She doesn't know that he's an UNSUB and I won't tell her. She has more than enough bedrooms to house Spencer and I and Auggie will want to hang out with her kids. It's a win win in my mind.

Very slowly, Auggie begins to wake up and Spencer does everything he can to stop his son from seeing him in such a state. Spencer keeps his hand on the back of August's head to keep him pressed to him.

"I'm hungry." Auggie quietly complains and JJ flicks on the light to the kitchen.

"What would you like to eat, mister?" She asks him, taking him from Spencer so I can get Spencer's face cleaned up in one of JJ's bathrooms.

He hums in thought.

  "Just some strawberries, please?"

  "Nothing else?"
