Okay, I'll pick you up at 2:30 <3
It was currently 2pm and I was trying to figure out what to wear to Dodge's. It took me some time, but I finally settled on some denim jean shorts and a plain black cropped tank top.
I finished brushing my hair and grabbed my phone before walking out to the living room.
"You're funny Dodge," My mom laughed.
"Dodge, hey." I smiled, seeing him making conversation with my mom in the kitchen.
"Well, you kids can get going."
"Are you all ready?" Dodge asked me, I nodded in response.
"Tell your mom I said 'Hi' would ya?" My mom added.
"Of course, Ms. Sloan. It was great talking to you." He smiled at her as he grabbed my hand and led me out to his car.
The drive wasn't long, only a couple minutes from my house to his.
"You coming?" Dodge asked, unbuckling his seat belt.
"Are they gonna like me?" I asked nervously.
"Of course, they're gonna like you," He kissed my cheek before a quick 'come on' and getting out of the car- only for him to come to my side and open the door for me.
"Thank you, partner." I bowed.
"Who's the cowboy now?" He grinned, leading me into the house.
"Hi there, you must be Lilia. I'm Dodge's mom, it's lovely to meet you." His mom introduced herself.
"Nice to meet you too, Ms. Mason" I smiled at her, shaking her hand.
Dodge and I walked into the kitchen; I was met with a girl in a wheelchair who only looked a few years older than Dodge.
"Hi, I'm Dayna. Dodge's sister" She smiled at me.
"Lilia, nice to meet you." I returned the smile.
"You're Natalie's friend, right? I've been hanging out with her lately- she's super nice."
"Yeah, I've been friends with Natalie since like second grade." I laughed.
"Dodge won't shut up about you," She laughed.
"Dayna," He grumbled. Dayna just raised her hands in defense, causing me to chuckle.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom, I'll be right back." Dodge said, rubbing my back before he left.
I sat down in the chair next to Dayna.
"Dodge never told me he had a sister," I admitted.
"Yeah, he's not the best at telling people things- one time he won the state derby and my mom, and I had to find out through the newspaper!" She laughed.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah, I mean- I think it's because of our dad, he hasn't really opened up to anyone since then." She explained. I nodded, listening to her.
"You like Carp?" I asked.
"Yeah, it's pretty cool." She shrugged.
"Okay, enough hogging my girlfriend." Dodge smiled walking into the kitchen.
"Wanna hangout in my room for a bit?" He asked me.
"Sure, it was great meeting you Dayna." I gave her one more smile before walking back into the hallway with Dodge. He closed the bedroom door behind me.
"What'd you guys talk about?" He asked me, sitting down on his bed.
"Oh, I don't know." I sighed, walking over to him and straddling his lap as he put his hands on my thighs to secure my position.
"Just how you're a real-life cowboy," I tried sounding not interested but I couldn't hold back my grin.
"She told you about the derbies?" He asked, I nodded- biting my lip.
"Are you upset that I didn't tell you?" He asked.
"No, I'm not gonna force you to tell me anything about your past. I hope you do one day, but I'll never force that." I shook my head.
"But I wanna see you in your cowboy getup, partner." I chuckled.
"Oh yeah?" he brushed my hair behind my ear.
"Mhm," I nodded.
"And why would that be?" He asked.
"Because you'd look hot," I shrug.
"You got a thing for cowboys?"
"One particular cowboy,"
"But you didn't even know he was a cowboy till three seconds ago," He shook his head.
"Mm, but now that I do- it's a huge turn on." I nod.
"Oh, really?" I nodded in response.
"Well, cowgirl. I'm doing some riding tomorrow if you wanna see?"
"Really?" I asked, excited.
He laughed at my response and nodded.
"I'll be there," I smiled.
