"We haven't gotten a chance to talk about how last challenge went." I said, sitting down on my bed.
"We're both alive, aren't we? We're both going to individuals." Dodge shrugged.
"I heard that you were the only one who didn't use Diggins help,"
"Yeah," He nodded.
"How?" I asked.
"Take help from the judges, your already in trouble. Used a coin to help me know which way was safe."
"But I heard you were right behind me, only used their help once." He sat down next to me.
"What question did they ask you?" He asked.
"Mm, why? Wanna know my deepest darkest secret?" I smiled at him.
"What'd they ask you, Lil."
"Why do you wanna know? You know I wouldn't tell them anything."
"You can't lie to the judges, if they asked you about me, you'd have to answer." He shrugged.
"Well luckily they didn't ask me about you, they asked about Natalie." I lied.
"Really?" You could hear the shock in his voice.
"Yeah, I've known her all my life."
"What do you think your individuals gonna be?" He asked.
"I don't know," I sighed.
"There's some obvious choices, I'm the girl who was abused- maybe the judges are sick enough to play that card."
"What about you? What do you think your individuals gonna be?" I asked.
"I don't know, I'm the new kid so judges can't know much about me. Could be played multiple different ways," He shrugged.
"We'll make it through," I nodded, trying to convince myself.
"Hey, we will." He hugged me.
"How about we go on a date? Take our minds off the individuals."
"Really? What do you have in mind?" I asked.
"Just change into some jeans,"
Dodge parked the car and we both got out, I still had no idea what he was up to.
I followed him to his trunk as he took out two cowboy hats.
"Hey ya go, cowgirl." He smiled at me, putting the hat on my head.
"You're shitting me," I laughed.
"Come on," He grabbed my hand and we walked for a bit before I saw the idea he had in mind.
There was a a gated area up a head and a white horse within.
"You're shitting me!" I repeated.
"Well, if you're gonna be a cowgirl you better learn how to ride." He smiled at me.
"Oh, I can ride." I joke, looking him up down.
"Not that kind of ride." He pointed at me, trying to contain his laugher.
We walked into the fenced off area, I held my hand out and let the horse get use to me.
"Okay, put your foot in the hole there and pull yourself onto the saddle." He explained.
"What if I fall?"
"You won't I'll be right here." He reassured me.
I do as he said and saddle up onto the horse.
"Great okay, now we're just going to walk around. I'll be right here but you're in charge, you control her." He said.
We started taking laps around the gate, I grew more comfortable over time.
"You're doing great, are you ready to try going faster?" Dodge asked me.
"Uh, yeah." I nodded.
"Okay, I'm gonna stay right here but you're going to be fine."
I lead the horse; we increased our pace and did some more laps.
"This is fun," I shouted over at Dodge who smiled at me.
"You're doing great!" He shot me a thumbs up.
I rode for a bit longer before I climbed off the saddle.
"You're a natural." Dodge grinned at me.
"I just have a great teacher." I kissed his cheek.
