░5░ CINQ【An-Awkward-Occurrence】

✧ADRIEN✧

ꕤ Friday ꕤ

𝓘 don't know if I can even concentrate at school today, my thoughts are filled with two things: how I'll spend my time with Ladybug~ and doubts that lean into my head where I'm a bit hesitant on talking to Kagami anymore.

But to make things even more awkward, I have my usual fencing lesson today and I don't think it's a good idea to see Kagami right now. I want to ask my father or Natalie to cancel it but, I'm afraid he won't approve because I've never missed any of them before.

So I've been trying to avoid her as much as possible since her last akuma attack, but I don't know how long I can keep this up because my father will want us to schedule something at some point and . . . he still thinks we're dating, so . . . there's no way I could tell him we broke up (much less that I'm now dating Ladybug).

I bury my hands into my face and zone out in thought. Until, I get dragged back into reality when Nino calls out to me, "Adrien~ dude—what are you so down about?" I slowly lean my head towards the side of the desk where he's at, "Nino—if I said that I was in love with someone, would you hate me for that?" Nino perks up, "In love with someone? Like . . . your ex?" I bury my face back into my arms. "No, not Kagami, more like . . . a silly crush I didn't know would escalate anywhere?" Nino stops for a moment.

His voice quiets down and he looks at me, "You're not saying . . . you broke it off with Kagami to pursue someone else, are you?" I look back up, "Well, no, but if I was . . . do you think that makes me a bad person for hurting her?" Nino leans back, "Hmm—Adrien if you're serious, then-" His voice gets cut off by Miss Bustier, "Class please quiet down, as I am now going to take attendance-"

The door suddenly flies open, "Wait—Miss Bustier, I'm here!" The entire class looks at what seems to be: Marinette, as usual.

"Miss Bustier, I'm so sorry I'm late—you see there was this akuma attack and-" The teacher cuts her off, "Yes, yes, so I've heard, please . . . sit down Marinette." She goes to sit by Alya.

If I know Marinette, it's that she's always late. But if what she was saying was true . . . that means I missed my chance to meet up with Ladybug this morning . . . which means I'm going to have to wait a little longer.

Miss Bustier takes a look around the classroom only to see that Chloe was still gone. She's been missing for a couple weeks now, to be specific, probably since her fight with Ladybug. But you know, despite all her drama, I can't lie that I'm not a bit worried about her, but since Sabrina still shows up, we've already asked her if Chloe just . . . got kicked out or something.

But all Sabrina replies with was, "Chloe has nothing to say to you! She switched online, but that's none of your business!" So we all took it as: she doesn't want to be around us anymore. So, even though the class has seemed much more cheerful now that her presence hasn't contaminated anything since her disappearance, I . . . still hope she's doing okay.

Class finally ended and Nino hasn't answered me. But, I need a little advice because I don't know if I'm supposed to be happy about this or not. Nino and I walk out towards the stairs. "Finally, we're done with class! Say dude—did you want to talk about something?" There it is, my chance, "Nino, about what I said earlier . . . I was thinking if-" Alya cuts me off, "Adrien!" I look behind us to see Alya coming over here with Marinette. "Oh . . . hey Alya." I respond.

"Adrien . . . I heard about what happened, you holding up okay?" I pause for a moment then respond, "Of course why wouldn't I be?" I know I haven't really been great at school so this must be about my ex because they're worried . . . but I feel bad because it was my excuses that caused this.

I look down, and Marinette just stands there and says, "Well, we thought we'd just, check up on you since . . . Kagami . . . uh- y-you know..." I look toward Nino, he clears his throat and chimes back at them, "Listen ladies, if Adrien needs anything he'll let you know, in fact I think it's best to let them decide if they want to talk to each other again." He pulls me in from my shoulders.

Alya looks back at Marinette, "Alright, just checking on you . . . but we'll leave you be, right girl?" Marinette giggles and responds, "Oh yeah for sure, I-I mean, see you around Adrien!" She grabs Alya and leaves. That was . . . kind of awkward.

"Listen, Adrien . . . answering your question earlier..." Nino speaks to me, "I think . . . you should clear things up with Kagami, if you can't be her boyfriend, at least try to be her friend?"

I back myself out of his shoulders, "Nino, I wish I could, I just think . . . that there's a girl that actually . . . " Nino looks at me confused, "There's another girl?" I stop. "No, forget what I said, it was just a scenario I had." He looks a bit concerned, I continue, "Nino, I want to let you know I'm fine, just a bit tired from my lessons, thanks for stepping in before, I should . . . " My limousine pulls up, "Get going, take care!" I say and head towards my ride.

Nino yells back, "A-Alright dude—please make sure if you need anything, I'll be there!" He waves at me and I wave back getting in my car. I take a deep breath and watch out the windows as I get driven home, only to have time to study then go back to school later for fencing.

❀MARINETTE❀

I wanted to see if Adrien needed any assistance after that whole fight with Kagami. But instead there was a weird wave of bleh—that came over me and I couldn't really say what I wanted to say to him, so I took Alya's hand and left. I thought my feelings were disappearing for Adrien but turns out . . . they're just appearing again and worse this time!

Maybe my brain thinks Adrien is 'free-real-estate' but I know he's not, and I'm not! I'm finally getting Cat Noir so there's no time to be dealing with this! But, just thinking about Adrien and his break up, I wonder how Kagami is doing? Or... not that I really want to talk to him, but sometimes even Luka.

I'm at the bakery in my room with Alya and I'm now just spinning in my chair by my computer contemplating everything. "Mari, you seem on the edge lately, I know Adrien isn't the only one dealing things, how are you holding up?" Alya tries to break the silence, "You know . . . " I look back down, "I'm completely okay!" I stretch my arms in the air.

I then try to change the subject, "Pfft- besides, the past is in the past... what about you? how are things with Nino?" She gives me that look and pushes up her glasses, "Girl, you haven't been contacting anyone but me, I know Luka must of affected you a bit, I mean—your photos, they're all taken down." I flick my hand, "Luka? please he's the least of my worries, you know? Forgive—Forget . . . " (That's a lie I'm completely worried about it and about what to do next as Ladybug!)

Alya seems to not enjoy me taking things lightly, "Alright, listen, when you finally come to your senses let me know and I'll be there, but please, don't try to ignore what you're feeling, I'm going to go back to my place but call me when you're done pretending things are okay." Alya gets up and gives me a hug, I couldn't help but hug her back and say, "Alya, I'm fine, I'll let you know if things aren't okay." She let's go, "Good."
