ꕤ LAST TUESDAY AFTER LE PARC... ꕤ

"𝓐𝓛𝓘𝓧, why did you want me to talk to Luka today?" I sit there across from her holding my smoothie, at a café close by. Alix sips her smoothie, "To be honest Marinette we all were wondering why you were avoiding people lately, so we figured . . . why not at least get you together with someone?" I stare at her wide eyed.

"Well Alix, it just doesn't work like that . . . I just broke up with Luka, and I don't want to see him right now, and with Adrien . . . " I look down, "It's . . . complicated." Alix puts her hand to her chin, "But what's so complicated? I get it now, I guess you don't want to be with Luka..." I gasp and correct her, "No I did but-" she cuts me off, "Then why not at least be with Adrien? Your single, he's single..." she tilts side to side, "I mean . . . I was trying to see how you'd react with Luka, but honestly, with Adrien it's much worse." She shrugs.

I slouch down, "Yeah I know, but there's no way I can be with him . . . " Alix crosses her arms, "But why? What's stopping you Marinette?" I look over and think, "Well, I tried to talk to Kagami yesterday, but she doesn't want to talk about him at all—the point is: she's probably still in love with him." Alix rolls her eyes and grunts, "Ugh—Marinette you didn't hear did you?" I roll my head on the table, "Hear what?" Alix puts her head on the table, "Nino told Max, who told me, that Adrien and Kagami settled things, and they're only friends."

I immediately sit up, "T-They what? That's not what Kagami said..." Alix sits up as well, "Yeah well she probably didn't want to tell you because you kept trying to get her with Adrien again." I put my hands to my forehead, "B-But that doesn't make any sense! Kagami always tells me everything."

Alix sips her smoothie, "Well, I don't know if you've noticed but . . . you're not really perceptive when you're talking to anyone about Adrien." I sip my smoothie anxiously, "You're right, maybe she did try to tell me, after all . . . we were sneaking into Adrien's house that day, but we didn't go in! because . . . we saw his friends were there." Alix puts her smoothie down, "You . . . what?" I stir around my smoothie with my straw, "Yeah... I was trying to get Kagami with him, but she wouldn't budge, I had planned it out and everything."

Alix gaps open her mouth, "So you're telling me, you were going to break into Adrien's house, while he had company, with Kagami to get them together?" I still look at my smoothie, "Well . . . yeah." It goes silent, I immediately try to re-phrase my words, "Wait! No I meant-" I wave my hands, "I meant that... you know... well..." I start to laugh nervously.

Alix seems disturbed, "Woah there Marinette, I think this is where I draw the line." I begin to scratch the back of my head, she continue putting down her smoothie, "Listen—I admit I'm one to talk because I tried getting you to talk to your ex, but... that's lowkey stalking the poor dude."

I frown, "No Alix, i-it's not! I was just making sure he was doing okay, I swear I would've left when-" Alix cuts me off, "Okay, let me tell you something, I've heard of your future plans with him, I've heard about the photos in your room, I've heard you got his whole schedule memorized and I've also heard you have planned his future gifts for the next... I don't know 30 years at least!" I try to explain, "But-" she cuts me off again, "I know you've practically figured out probably even more, but sneaking into his house? Are you insane?!"

I fumble over my words, shocked, "A-Alix, wouldn't you d-do anything f-for love?" She doesn't seems phased. "Look, I know it's hard for you to understand . . . but if I'm going to put my whole heart into someone, I have to make sure I know everything about them!" Alix sighs, "That's your excuse?"

I continue and look sideways, "Well y-you see, I used to have a crush on Kim in 8th grade, but... he insulted my feelings and sided with Chloe, so I was devastated and vowed to not let that happen to me ever again." Alix rolls her eyes, "Marinette you know I'm here for you, but this goes to the extreme, I think you have trust issues." She says bluntly.

I gasp, "I don't know... I mean I laid off on Luka and didn't go crazy, which I thought was good..."  Alix agrees. I say, "But with Adrien... it's so different, I want to make sure I protect him." Alix taps her fingers, "So you going to keep this up?" I look down, "I'm not sure what I'm going to do." Alix nods and sighs, "Well then, I hope you figure it out, at least... I'm glad I went out of my way to talk to you, but you need to get your priorities straight! you and I—also don't talk too much, only when we all hangout, isn't it kind of a bummer?" I look back up, "Yeah..." Alix shrugs, "Well we all know Alya is your best friend, but even Alya struggles to know what goes on in your head." I stare back, "Yeah... I'm sure..."

Alix continues, "I'm going to be on my way, but Marinette, just know you don't have to struggle on your own, we all got your back." She winks. I smile back, "Thank you Alix, I'll look into your words." Alix smiles and puts the money out on the table, she leaves the café waving.

Am I really a crazy-stalker? Does Adrien see me that way? Am I . . . just some freak in love? What about Cat Noir... if I can't get over my feelings for him, how am I going to keep this up?

I lie down in my bed thinking. Tiki approaches me, "Marinette, I'm worried about you, you haven't said anything since earlier!" I turn away from her trying to ignore what anyone says to me. She floats away frowning. The other Kawamis go back into the box.
