The signature call had emanated from the cornucopia as a simultaneous dread washed over all the contendants. The ground had shaken at the same time as if the earth had rumbled coincidentally through the awe of the beginning. The tributes jumped off their platforms– and sprinting towards one direction or another, depending on whatever their objective was for the first day out here.

At least a third of the tributes had dispersed from the cornucopia, returning into the ruins that encircled all of them there. Some burst into the doors, others jumped through windows out of sight from the other tributes. But that left the remaining others at the cornucopia as they all sprinted towards the nearest weaponry they could lay their hands on. Every tribute distanced from each other– and looked at each other in disdain, some even viewing their district partner with the same trepidation yet hostility that they had been forced to consume.

The ground had shaken beneath them, pebbles kicking up on the ground and dust collecting as people had slid towards the center, collecting whatever they could find. From first glance, Cotton was the first to get something– grabbing a yellow bag that had slung right over his shoulder, as someone ran up to him– as he swung it by its drawstring, knocking Zion over as he swung to the ground in an instant. The boy continued running, picking up his hood as best as he could– as he made a jagged line away from the line of sight.

Zion placed his hand on his head– before he felt someone's hand behind him, her voice immediately snapping him out of his recovery.

"Zion, get up!" Chiara's eyes darted as she helped him up, picking him up underneath his arms as the both of them watched the dismay that washed over the cornucopia.

Python was first to grab a weapon, his hands laid deeply on a spear– as it flailed in his hand, his grip had tightened around it– and almost by instinct as desperation had crawled up his throat, he looked towards the closest person who came by him. His hands moved before his thoughts did, as he flung the spear outwards– its velocity heightening as the spear had flimsily landed into the boy's arm, but dropping as only the tip had skidded past his elbow. Although the pain was minimal compared to what could have happened, Beau dropped to the ground as his voice had escaped his body, dropping the kukri that he gripped from the outside of the structure. Python looked at his hands, then back at Beau before dashing towards him– as the other boy had began to get up, all of his confidence completely shattering the moment someone had gotten the jump on him.

Scarlett-Rose shook her head– for some reason, all she could do was stand there as she approached the cornucopia. Her eyes darting across the place as she watched everyone shouting, and hustling around in the sanded area– her hands shaking as she looked backwards– watching as Nucleo had completely abandoned her there. She felt her breathing start to pitch, as she placed her hand on her chest, as she started to see that dreaded color that had painted the ground in her name.

Marigo ran into the cornucopia– but went completely past it as he was trying to get to Kaia, as the girl was standing there, she tried running as well. But just as he did, the girl had tripped over as a blade had flew right by her. He looked over, and immediately saw Hayyan whose eyes were almost as bloodthirsty as his district partner's, one that he hadn't seen until the Games had begun. Kaia's voice heightened as fear had caused her to become even more afraid– he watched as Hayyan lifted his hand, running as he did as the next blade flicked by his wrist.

"Luciana!"

The girl barged into Hayyan immediately, as the boy was dropped to the ground– the blades sliding out from his hand as his eyes started to widen at the lighter girl above her. Despite how light she was, there was much of a struggle as he tried reach towards the blade. But Luciana had placed her whole body weight on him as she started landing her fists down into him, trying to incapictate him as fast as possible. Dropping her fists down into his face as it became bloodied and more bruised as he tried to shield his face away, crimson started dripping down the corner of his face–
