Yizhuo was pacing around Minjeong's room while on the phone with Giselle. Minjeong sat silently on her bed while she replied to a couple of emails.
It was a Saturday, which was usually a shorter day for her. She'd only go to work in the morning and would be back by the late afternoon, which was when she continued working some more. If she wasn't doing that, she would be reading up on new diagnoses and therapies.
"So... I'll see you later then?" Yizhuo asked over the phone, biting her finger. Minjeong was greatly amused. "Okay... bye. I'll see you."
Cue a grown woman squealing in three, two, one–
"Oh my God!" Yizhuo squealed, just as Minjeong predicted. "We're going on a date! Well, she didn't say it was a date and neither did I, but it's technically a date!"
"That's great," Minjeong smiled. "Where are you guys going? What's the dress code?"
"She's taking me to Limbo," Yizhuo squealed again. "Really fancy date!"
"Not bad," Minjeong raised her eyebrows. Giselle must've been very well off. "So, you're dressing very, very, very fancy?"
"Of course," Yizhuo nodded. "Which means you're coming over to mine and helping me pick out an outfit."
"Right now?"
"Yes, right now!" Yizhuo huffed. "I've got hair and makeup to do as well. She's picking me up at six-thirty."
Minjeong rolled her eyes– affectionately, of course– and got up. She put her stuff aside and grabbed her purse, ready to leave to Yizhuo's.
"Where's your car?" Minjeong furrowed her eyebrows, noticing Yizhuo's vehicle was nowhere to be found.
"In the workshop," Yizhuo shrugged. "I had an... incident this morning."
"Did you hit someone? Or something?" Minjeong asked. "Please don't tell me you have a criminal record."
"I just scraped it against a pillar," Yizhuo smiled. "And then somehow burst a tire. Then drove all the way to the workshop with three tires."
"My God, it's a miracle I haven't had to bail you out yet," Minjeong muttered, getting into her car with Yizhuo. "So how'd you get here?"
"Cab," Yizhuo told. "Oh, speaking of, in the event she doesn't offer to drop me home, could you pick me up?"
"Depends on what time, sure," Minjeong hummed. "Just don't get lost at three in the morning again, please."
"That was one time and it'll never happen again," Yizhuo pouted. "What are your plans for tonight since I'm not around?"
"Café for dinner, home for more work."
"Boring," Yizhuo stuck her tongue out. "Go on a date with someone. On a whim."
"Do you think about anything else other than dating?"
"Yes, I think about a lot of things," Yizhuo nodded. "Like your well-being, for example."
"I don't want to go on dates, Yizhuo," Minjeong chuckled. "You must know that by now."
"What are you gonna do when I'm in a relationship and won't be able to spend all my time with you?"
"No offence to you, but I really do thrive in solidarity," Minjeong shrugged. "I'll be fine, Ning. Please don't worry about me."
"I'm gonna worry about you whether you like it or not." Yizhuo huffed, crossing her arms.
"I'm already giving Jaemin a chance," Minjeong reminded. "I'm keeping an open mind."
